Down Payment and Closing Costs
How much of a down payment did you put down and what were your closing costs? I hope this is the year for us.

we put almost 10% down (we found a first time homebuyer program and dont pay PMI or a second mortgage)
and our closing costs were about $13K.

We put down 10% (Did not pay PMI) and our closing costs were about $17K. That included escrow as well
There are many factors involved with how much your closing costs will be, how much you put down? Amount of the mortgage you take? If you are paying any points?, How much you need to Escrow? etc...

we put down 20% and $16K in closing costs - but some of that is your first mortgage payment and back taxes to the seller, since most of us don't close on the day the taxes are due and they are prepaid for 6 months, and like the PP mentioned - you need a certain amount in escrow.

We put down 13% (no PMI) but almost a full point & we paid about 16k.

We put down about 15% and paid 17,000 in closing costs.

House was $410K, taxes are $9100 a year. Put 5% down and had about $17K in closing costs.

10% down and we piggy backed our mortgage to avoid PMI. Our closing costs were about $11K.
