if you didn't see it,it does'nt count!
yep this is what our daycare lady told us.
She and I had a great laugh when I said "LOOK she has a tooth!" I was super late on noticing it! lol
I know she saw stuff first but she never said a word. Then one day I asked her if AJ was doing this or that..she frankly said to me..
"If it didn't happen with mama, it didn't happen at all"
but reassured me she was fine.

Re: Don't tell me
I think that whatever you do is fine. I worked my DS1's entire 1st year, from 8 weeks to 51 weeks and definitely missed some firsts that my parents got to see since they cared for him M-F 7-6. However, I am a SAHM now and have a 3 month old and I have still missed 1sts. My DS2 laughed for the 1st time with my parents, I missed it (i was in another room) and it took me days before DS would laugh with me. Also, my DS2 rolled for the 1st time last week and my dad saw it but I missed it (and I was sitting next to him!) bc I was watching what DS1 was doing. So, you can miss things even when you are right there.

Re: Don't tell me
My MIL watched DS when I went back to work...and we did this. It was actually HER idea! So thoughtful of her, I thought.
It worked well for us.
