Re: Doggie GTG - Redux!
We would be able to make it on the 3rd - just as long as there's a designated area for small dogs

On the first poll I put up, I had 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. - noone picked 2 p.m. but a bunch of people picked 10 a.m. plus there were a few requests to make it a little later such as 11 a.m. That is why all the times say 11 a.m. - it was the most popular time.
That being said, even if most of us got there at 11, we will end up staying for at least a couple hours - so if 11 is too early, you could always just show up a little later.
Anyway - it looks like Saturday May 3rd is a good one...I'm up for it - and I think you all know what Misty looks like...so I shall hope to see some of you at Cedar Creek park on Saturday!!

And can anyone link us to directions? Is that where the GTG is going to be?

Directions: Take the Southern State Parkway to Exit 27 South (Wantagh Parkway). Exit off the Wantagh Parkway at W6 (Merrick Road East). Continue down Merrick Road for approximately half-mile and look for the park entrance on your right.

Thanks!!!!

Didn't say you could attend....come when you can...or we could do one that's later, but noone seemed to want to go to the one later.

I kept on waiting for updates but never saw any until Gerty Posted.
DH and I go to the Dog Parks at Least 2 x's a week. I could probably go to all the dates mentioned above. Like Gerty mentioned, we are usually there for hours. So maybe you can still join us.

Re: Doggie GTG - Redux!
Ok, so this is a county park...
This may sound like a dumb question but do we need to have some sort of pass to park? Or is there a fee?
Again, is there a pooch pass requirement?
I'm not familiar with how Nassau parks work.
Geez that even sounded DUMB to ME!!!

Just called the park. There is no fee for entry or use of the dog run.
The dog run is located near the administration building and there is parking there.
Thank you Kevin I didn't have time to do this myself at work today.

The one we had a few years back in Tomkins square park was fun! Subway to Trixie & Peanut for some shopping, hang out in the park & then Brunch with the pups at Life (It was life, right?) That was a blast...even DH had a good time.

Re: Doggie GTG - Redux!
Also, Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn also has a dog run. If there are any Queens/NYC/North Shore pets that want to GTG there we can organise there as well.

Re: Doggie GTG - Redux!
Question - I have a very small dog. Like 10 pounds. She loves other dogs, is very submissive with her doggie friends but has never been to a dog park. She was mauled last year by a german shepard but does not appear to have any residual fear (even with her buddy who is a 110+ lb ridgeback)...should we not go? I'm a little gunshy of having her around big dogs unless I know she will be safe
