Does your DH take a "nap"?

Help me settle a debate please Chat Icon I made plans with my DH to go to an awesome outlet sale last night after work. I told him I will be home at 6 and then we'll go. Well, I get home and he is napping (yes, he is 33) and I tried to get him up 3 times. He gets up at 7 and we go. Well, the store closed at 7. Chat Icon We also tried to go on Sunday nite and just missed it. Now, tonight he has to work and the sale I think is over after today. We were both going to get work clothes.

I don't care so much about the clothes, more so the fact that we made plans and when I got home, I was ready to go and had to wait around an hour. I know he works hard during the day and so do I, but when I make plans, I keep them. I told him if the situation were reversed I would have woken up and gone. I would NOT be napping but....

He gets home arond 430. If he was really that tired, then sleep til 6 and then we'll go. But don't make me wait around. I thought it was selfish and rude and he didnt see what the big deal was.... Chat Icon

Re: Does your DH take a "nap"?

If my DH really does not want to do something he'd be napping & He rarely takes a nap.

Re: Does your DH take a "nap"?

I don't mind him taking a nap...as long as I've known him, he does it...but what p*ssed me off is that we made plans and he blew me off.

Re: Does your DH take a "nap"?

DH doesn't nap, but he goes to bed and wakes up so late it's almost as if he's taking a nap. His sleep schedule doesn't leave us with a lot of time to do things together.

Yes he takes naps on Sunday afternoons listening to whatever game is on. He also wakes up if I change the game & claims he was listening to it.

Since I'm a pro-napper, I wouldn't be annoyed, I probably would have just gone without him to the sale.

Re: Does your DH take a "nap"?

I wish my DH would take a nap once in awhile. For me, there is nothing better than to relax on the couch and watch MTV reality shows....but he doesn't sit still ever. And if I want to chill out once in awhile he will call me a couch potato. I'm ususally begging him to relax a little bit.

My DH never takes naps...even if he's screwed up with jet lag.

The only time he may nap is when we're on vacation, been drinking and plan on going out really late at night.

He does once in a while (usually when sick or tipsy) but is good about scheduling them around plans. I kind of like when he does it because it feels like I have the house to myself, which I like once in a while.

Re: Does your DH take a "nap"?

DH used to nap constantly due to sleep apnea, since he wasn't getting a full nite's sleep. Now he wears the CPAP machine and things are better. However he's taking Prednisone for a medical condition, and now he's tired again!!!

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I get frustrated too when he says "I'll just lie down for a while", and 3 hours later he finally wakes up. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

OMG this just happened. My car is ready at the mechanic. they said someome would pick me up. I said "it's ok. my husband can drop me off". (he's home for lunch). anyway, he said no problem, if he can just take a 10 minute nap after he finishes eating. WHAT???

Re: Does your DH take a "nap"?

If my DH keeps himself busy when we get home from work, then there is no napping.
But,if he so much as sits on the couch, he can fall asleep mid-sentance! I'm no better.

Re: Does your DH take a "nap"?

Neither one of us ever nap. We got up at 6am and go to bed at 11pm. For us, 7 hours of sleep is plenty. Yeah some days you are more tired than others but on those days we go to bed earlier.
