does your dh or anyone else go with you to your ob appts?

DH went with me to the first one bc it was christmas eve and he had off, the second one (where i heard the hearbeat) i went by myself, and now im going to the 11 week one on Monday and DH also has a dr;s appt in westchester. so my mom asked me if she can come.
i know that at the 11 week one you can actually see a baby on the sono..... so im soooo excited and i think id want someone there.
ofcourse im going to want DH there after the 20th week so for now im going to have to su*ck it up.


eta: we live in maspeth, queens, i work right here, my doc is in great neck, and DH works in Greenwich CT, so the scheduling does not work in my favor, last possible appt is 4.

No. He only goes to the sonos (I have alot of them especially now that I'm at the end).

IMO, there really is no reason to drag my husband to my 5 minute appointments. All they do is have me pee in a cup, weigh me, take my BP and listen for the heartbeat.

He did come to my last appointment but that's because he had questions and concerns about my delivery that he wanted to talk to my Dr. about.

nope-not with the 1st and not with this one either. just the 20 wk. appt. he enjoyed seeing the sono pics when he got home though.
DH is out of the house for work from 5:30am til like 8pm. just the way it is!
definitely take your mom though! it's fun to have someone there!

My DH comes to every OB appt, unless there it is a "problem" appt, like a possible yeast infection or something. I like him to hear what the doctor has to say so we can discuss it. We have been lucky that he is able to do this.

I go on my own except DH came for the ultrascreen. And I assume he'll come for the Level II.

My DH comes to them all, even the ones where it's just taking my weight and listening to the heartbeat! he loves hearing the heartbeat just as much as I do, and he loves the fact that now he has a relationship with my doctors.

DH has been coming to my sono appts & he went to my ultrascreen at 12 wks. He did come to one quick one b/c we were heading somewhere afterwards & he stayed in the waiting room w/ DD, but otherwise, there's no real need for him to go.

my dh comes to them all - in the beginning he would leave early/go late to be there (i also had sonos on those days though). now that i've switched to a midwife i've been able to schedule the appointments late enough so that he can go without missing any work. he wants to be there for the sonos and doesn't mind missing the 5 minute weigh in appointments, but he figures if he can come he's going to come, you know?

Dh has been to all of them so far with this preg (15 weeks!). Last time he went to most, as many as he could, but wasn't there for at least a couple at the end.

No, I just make sure he knows about the Ultrascreen and the Level 2 - he takes off to come to those.

DH comes to all my appointments.
He's missed one and for that one I took my MIL with me.
I just like the comfort of having someone there with me.

dh comes to all of them.. he likes to hear the heartbeat and wants to be involved so i always schedule so that i can go home and us drive their together

DH came to most when I was pregnant with Kaila, but this time it will probably just be a few sonos and the level 2

DH comes to all of the sonos and long appts, but I do the 5-min quick check ups alone. The 5-min ones are boring!

DH comes to all my appts with me. I love having him there because he gets involved in the conversations and asks great questions that sometimes I don't even think to ask. He makes his own schedule for work so it's never a problem for him to come along.

dh has come to all my appts, even todays which was a make me feel better appt.

he says he wants to be there for everything bc its our miracle together he is so wonderful with this pregnancy.

he can only make it bc we schedule appts a month in advance and he can schedule his work around it.

if he had a 9-5 job or worked far from the office he wouldnt be able to come either sooo dont worry he will be there for the important appts.

ill bring him to all the sono ones.... maybe the others too, not sure yet, but the ones with the sonos are the ones that i really want him there for.

Just the sonos. There really is no point in him coming to the check ups and most women in the waiting room don't have their SOs with them.

But if I were you I'd definitely try to schedule the sonos that he can be there - that's the exciting bit and being able to see the baby makes it more real for the guy.

For the most part I have been going myself. DH has been to one sono appt at the RE but it is so difficult to schedule both our workdays around my RE & OB's hours. At first I was upset, but then I realized that eventually he will be able to make it there, especially for important ones. I do feel terrible bc I have my first OB appt on Friday & I know I will hear the HB but he can't make it.

DH works the most chaotic and unorganized schedule in the world so if he is off, I suspect he will come. He is very nervous and emotional about the whole thing so I am sure he wants to be as involved as possible.

I wish my mom lived closer...I'd have her come to at least one of the ultrasounds.

DH comes with me to all of them. I've told him he doesn't have to come to the 5 min. apts, but he wants to be there for all of them. He's so cute!

dh only goes to sono appointments. IMHO< there is no need for him to come to the quick, pee in a cup, take your blood pressure, listen to the heartbeat with doppler appointments

Nope, only to the important ones, like the first sono and the nuchal ultrasound.
