does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
I can't get used to signing my married last name...and I hate my signature. it's so mechanical, not fluid at all...
and I've been married 2 years.
*disclaimer- if you didn't change your name, this shouldn't apply to you, and if it does... please post details

Yes, I had my maiden name down and looking so pretty. Now I have to scribble this new name because the letters don't go together smoothly in my handwriting.

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
I was doing SO well with it until about two days ago. I signed IN with my maiden name and signed OUT with my married name. . . I felt like such an idiot!!
Oh and my signature is that of a fifteen year old girl

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
Yeah, because I retained my maiden name and added a hyphen with his last name.
It just plain maddens me to add his last name because it's such a ridiculous name, and literally EVERY SINGLE day I get made fun of because of it.
What is it, you ask?
Beer.
Yes.
BEER.
And to think, Dh wanted to name our child, if a boy, Guy.
I'm not joking.
I nixed that idea when I enlightened him to what would happen when they did roll call in class
"Beer....Guy"
"Beer...Guy"
"Beerguy"
But, I digress...

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
Yes. I actually just recently changed it (almost 2 years later). The other day I had to sign something and it wound up being the first two letters of my maiden name and then my married name.

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
I can't get used to saying my married name and occasionally, I still sign my maiden name...
I actually did it on a check to our cleaning people not that long ago. I didn't notice until I was looking at my canceled check images online.

At least people can pronounce it.
I'm a freckle-faced, 100% Irish girl with a 5-syllable Italian last name.

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
I'm kind of used to it...I just practiced saying it over and over and over again and I'm finally used to it. Its actually my maiden name that is beginning to look akward. Its funny though when other people hear what my last name is...they are completely baffled by it They say, you're blond with blue eyes, and your skin is whiter than snow and your last name is ______?

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
Sometimes - but it's due to being lazy.
Allow me to explain...
I have a store CC that we use to purchase "big items" for the house with. We get the whole "no payment for a year and no interest" and so it allows us to pay off the investment alittle at a time.
Well anyway, it's the ONLY card I've yet to change over to my married name and so when I use it I have to remember to sign my maiden name. Invariably, after I use the card, I spaz out and sign the wrong name.
One of these days I'll change my name on that card and be free of the brain fart.

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
I do sometimes. I never usually sign my madien name but I still can't get the hang of all the new letters. I kept the M, but I went from a short last name to a long one, so its a bit of a pain

We went to contract on our house before the wedding and closed after the wedding.
I told the bank to just keep the papers in my maiden name b/c I wasn't sure I'd have my marriage certificate by the closing date.
Well, luckily I DID Have my marriage certificate by the closing date b/c the bank put - on every single page - my name as:
Kara Middle Maiden Married
As in my full first name, full middle name, and then both last names.
And they make you sign your name exactly as it appears.
I had to sign Kara Middle Maiden Married about 8,000 times.

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
It took me a couple of months to get use to it since it doesn't flow off the hand as easy with a "Z" in the middle. When someone says my maiden name, it seems funny to me now

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
Yes, I do!
And even have a hard time when I'm working and get introduced to a client and I say my maiden name, then stumble and stammer and try and say my Married name.
Then I tell them I have been married for 1 year and 1/2

Re: does anyone still have trouble signing their wedded name?
Signing - not so much.
Saying - totally. People pronounce my last name so many different ways - people including DH and ILs - so I figure it's easier not to say it.
I think people at work realize it (since that's where I need to say it the most). I've been in my job for almost 10 years and worked with a lot of people in some capacity over that time period (including people in other offices). I refer to myself most of the time as just Alison.

I didn't change my last name. I can barely pronounce my DH's last name, forget about trying to spell it.
