I go to Ocean Perinatology for all of my sonos and tests. I'm not sure why as I am not high risk, but I love them!!!!

Who will you be seeing? I was seeing Dr. Mackenzie and I loved him and last week he left the practice (he moved). i was so upset bc I was very comfortable with him, he knew my personality (a worry wort) and i trusted him.
He recommended that I see Dr. Goldstein now.
just an FYI: I am being followed for a hematoma.

I went to Dr. Goldstein for my entire pregnancy with DD. He was wonderful. Very nice, down to earth, smart guy. IMO, you are in good hands with him.

I a sorry I am hijacking this post, but I am so happy tht there are good reviews on Dr. Goldstein.
I was so nervous about switching especially since liked Mackenzie's personality and he knew how nervous this was making me.
i am seeing him at the Garden city location. Thats the only bad thing bc he is only there on Wednesdays. Does he spend a lot of time with you. Is he an alarmist at all?
Thanks so much.

The doc and NURSES are fantastic here. I was going everyday since 17 weeks. They might seem like an alarmist but they are very detailed and it is great. I was sad and actually cried when they told me i didnt have to come back after my 35 week appt. Good luck.

Re: Does anyone see a perinatologist?
Dr. Goldstein is awesome. He is not doom and gloom. He offers you all the options and helps you make an informed decision. I saw him with my son and will go back when I get pregnant again. He is a caring doctor and recommend him to anyone in need or a peri. And best of all he was not a wait and see doctor. He took precautions to protect my son before a problem developed.

Another Dr. Mackenzie-turned-Dr. Goldstein patient here. i really liked Dr. Mackenzie and was sad that he left. I am happy to hear that people like Dr. Goldstein. I really like the Brightwaters office.

Re: Does anyone see a perinatologist?
I saw Dr. Goldstein with my first son as he was the one who sent me to the hospital to wait to deliver. Even in the chaos that I was going through he was great. My husband was at work so I had my mother and mil with me. They both really liked him. They liked the way he handled the situation and even made gestures at them when I wasnt looking I would give him two thumbs up for anyone who has to see him.

Re: Does anyone see a perinatologist?
my SIL goes to one. she had a prior miscarriage and hormone level difficulties.
as far as I know, you only go if you're high-risk or have had IVF or other issues getting pregnant. it's just a way to monitor you and the baby more closely.

Re: Does anyone see a perinatologist?
Thanks for all of the replies!
I went to the mineola office yesterday- I didnt realize there was an office in brightwaters until after the appt. I live about 10 minutes from brightwaters!
Anyway- I was supposed to see dr. goldstein, but saw someone else whose name I forget. I think he said Fulstein or close to it. He had an accent- like jamaican or something.

How come you didn't see Dr. Goldstein. Actually, when I called to make appointments, they told me he is only in on Wednesdays in the Mineola office.
How is Dr. Faustein.

I had to see Dr. Faustin for a few appts during the summer b/c Dr. Goldstein took most of the summer off to spend with his DC. I wasnt a big fan of Dr. Faustin. I dont doubt he is a good dr. but I had a heard time understanding him and he was always late. My appts at Madonna would turn into a 3 hr ordeal. I finally got smart and began calling the morning of my appt to make sure Dr. Goldstein was in. If he wasnt I rescheduled. I was going there every 3-4 weeks for my thyroid condition so having to wait 3 hrs became pretty annoying fast.

I had something like that happen to me once. I was supposed to see Dr. Mackenzie, but I called the day before to confirm and they had me seeing someone else! I don't know why they would do that, other than for an emergency. If you want to see your doctor only, its a good idea to call ahead.

Re: Does anyone see a perinatologist?
Went to RE for a follow-up today and I told her about all the issues I was having with my practice out at North Shore and she recommended Andrew Mackenzie and Jonathan Goldstein...
As per the previous posters - where did Dr Mackenzie go?
I called Dr Goldsteins' office and they take my insurance so that is an option but the 1-day a week in Mineola is hard...there is no way i could go to bay shore to see him.
