Does anyone else hate wearing a coat?
OMG I despise it for some reason.
This morning I couldn't bring myself to put a coat on so I just grabbed it and carried it to the car with me and then carried it into the office too.
The car was cold at first and I am wearing a dress and bare legs but I just dealt with it until it warmed up.
I only go from my house to the car, to the office, so it's not like I'm standing on a train platform or standing at the bus stop etc.
If I had to do that I guess I would have forced myself to wear it.
But it just feels so damn bulky, my hair gets caught under the collar, I find it restrictive and hot.
It's going to be a LONG winter....
Am I the only one who HATES wearing a coat??

Me too.
I go from house to car to railroad. At Penn I hop onto the subway and my office is right above the shuttle station.
The only time I feel the cold is when I'm standing on the platform waiting for the train. That's when a hot flash comes in handy.

Nope I hate it too. I wear one commuting but when I run out to get coffee or lunch I usually don't. Of course I freeze but I'm too lazy/in a hurry to put it on!

LOVE the cold weather - HATE and don't wear coats. I have heavy cardigans that I wear in the fall/winter.

Me too and then I get the horrified looks and the "Where's your COAT???"
I mean come on- I'm not going to freeze to death in the 5 minute dash to get lunch or coffee.
The way some people bundle up at the first sign of cool weather, you would think they are going on an expedition to Antarctica!
It was like 58 or 60 degrees one day this Sept or Oct and I saw people in Penn Station in scarves and puffer coats. Like what I wear in the polar vortex. It's like they just can't wait to hide under 40 layers for 8 months!

LOLOL. Me and one of my friends always laugh at the first puffer coat sighting of the season. Along with the first Ugg sighting.

Yes to everything you said. I HATE it. Hate driving with it (so bulky), hate when your hair is stuck under the collar.. ugh. Hate wearing a hood b/c it's either static city or a mess.
I hate when I'm wearing it outside and it's freezing, then go into a store and it's boiling hot and you have to carry it around.
I need to leave NY. I'm not made for this weather. 
ETA: Scarves are horrible too!! I don't know how people wear them, esp those huge bulky ones. Makes me sweaty just thinking of it.

I totally am not cut out for NY weather either. Even weraring pants and long sleeves is too much for me. I hate winter/fall clothes. I'd live in a summer dress all year long if I could.
And forget closed toe shoes....they kill my feet!
Don't even get me started on scarves! I can't wear anything on my neck. I can't wear turtlenecks. Even if a neckline is too high up- I can't wear it.
So forget scarves. They are like torture. And they ruin my hair too.
The only time you will catch me in a scarf is like you if I'm outside in the snow or if it's the polar vortex and I have to walk more than a few city blocks. Other than that- NO THANK YOU!
Just so much bulk!!!

After responding to this post I ran to Sbux, SANS coat of course. My wrap dress completely flew open when the wind blew 
I guess there is some merit to wearing a coat for more than just warmth!

Opaque black tights! And I JUST made the transition to tights this week because I hate those as much as coats! I'm with you on the summer clothes thing!

now that I have my Mom Bod (Lord Help Me) I hate winter coats- those Fuc*%$# never fit right- like seriously that one button by the tummy is always straining and the shoulders are huge...
I do however really love my Uggs and get excited to wear them!!

So almost as if on cue, as I am reading the responses on this thread, my office mate walks in and she is wearing a HUGE black puffer coat with a huge fur hood.
She looked like the abominable snowman!
It took all I had to not start laughing becuase it was just too perfect timing!!!

hahaha, my BF lives in Florida and whenever I go visit in February, EVERYONE is wearing boots...and its 75 degrees! She says everyone wears boots in Feb and March because its literally the only 2 months you can...I dont get it. I wear flip flops into November if I can!

The mall is a place i'd NEVER wear one LOL. I run to/from the car and deal with it. It is so hot in the mall during the winter.

I hate coats, but I live up near Albany so it is a necessary evil - Friday the real feel was 12 degrees!!!!
If I don't plan on wearing one, I at least keep one in my car just in case something happens.

Me!! I hate coats!! I’ve become a wimp with cold weather though, and I can’t just suck it up to the car anymore, so I’m the asshole in the puffer jacket at the first sign of cold. I hate it!! My DD has soccer practice a couple times a week at night, and I look like I’m on an expedition to the North flucking pole!
