Doctor Visit!!!

I went to the doctor yesterday and he took blood. I got the results today and he said everything looks fine with me. My DH's sperm is actually really good too! DH clarified that there was just a minor issue and he said that most samples have minor issues so we are good to go!

I am going to start using Clomid and he said I have to go back to see him around the day AF is expected next cycle to see how my body reacted to the Clomid. Is this enough monitoring? (He is just a regular OB.)

The game plan is to try this for 3 cycles and then revisit.

I asked him if I was PG right now would it have showed up in the blood and he said that it mostly likely would have because of where I am in my cycle. Oh well. At least my copay was less $$ than a test. I have some more cramping today but I think I am out.

I am sad that I am probably not PG this month but very very thankful that my blood work came back ok!!

seeing your doctor at the end of a clomid cycle is not monitoring at all. do you ovulate on your own now?? if you dont, and clomid in ineffective and doesnt make you ovulate, you may find ourself waiting forever for AF.

cycle monitoring means that the doctor sees you DURING the cycle a few times before ovulation to see how you are reacting to the meds. waiting til the end of the cycle isnt considered being monitored. i mean you could take clomid and wing it - but for me personally, i was in your EXACT situation and thats the same day i made my first RE appointment and it was the best decision i ever made in the TTC process. it's a good think i did make that appointment too, because the RE monitored me on clomid and we discovered that it did absolutely nothing for me. if i took the ob/gyns advice i would've waited at least 4-5 weeks to find out that clomid did NOTHING for me.

unless you want to sit around guessing if its working, i highly suggest you find a doctor that will monitor your clomid cycle!!! good luck!!

glad things look good...but just taking clomid with no monitiering exept at end of cycle isnt very good. i take infertility meds myself and am seen multiple times during cycle to see how my body is doing. i would never take clomid with out an re personally. jmo gl

my doc told me on the clomid i will be coming in a few times to be monitored while on it...then on cd23 come in for blood work

i would def talk 2 ur doc..best of luck!!!!!

Thank you everyone for the support and advice. This is so scary and hard. As of now I am just hoping and praying for a BFP this weekend so this journey will be over. I think I am out but I guess there is always a chance. I am going to call the doctor and ask him a few more questions.
