Do your clothes fit?
I am shocked and amazed every day at the clothing I see people wearing. I don't care what size you are, or what styles you wear - that's all personal preference. But really, why wear a shirt that is obviously three sizes too small? Or jeans that you have to SQUEEZE yourself into, creating a horrific muffin top that you emphasize with a skin-tight shirt It confuses the heck out of me! Why would anyone, ever, go out in public like that??
Okay, vent over. I am just tired of being grossed out at the mall.

You think the mall is bad try the subway! Sometimes I truly think that they don't look in the mirror. But to answer your question now after having a baby especially I make a point not to have any muffin top and I rather have them looser than tighter.

its horrible - especially at work. my favorite is when pin-striped pants are soooo tight, the lines are wavy.

Re: Do your clothes fit?
This has to be one of my biggest pet peeves. As much as I hate seeing strangers dressing in children's sizes, I hate seeing my FRIENDS do it even more!! It's always so awkward if you should say something or not!

Re: Do your clothes fit?
I feel like the reason MIGHT be that they gained weight and are in denial or "don't realize it" so they keep wearing the same clothes in their closets that USED to fit them perfectly.

Re: Do your clothes fit?
I saw someone like that at the mall too over the weekend!! (roosevelt field)
I was shocked that someone would leave their house like that!!! I am all for being proud of how you look etc, but she was clearly wearing clothes that did NOT fit and looked ridiculous!
I wonder if we saw the same person!

It may not even be that they don't realize it. I know I gained 10 lbs over the past 6 months. Some big life changes going on. I know my jeans don't fit as well as they used to. But TO ME, to buy a size up is admitting that I won't lose the weight. It is almost a sign of giving up.
I'm not happy at this size, but I also don't want to give myself any reasons to stay this size, either.

I know what you mean! There is this woman who I see on my way to work just about everyday who is teeny tiny but she wears these dress pants that are SKIN TIGHT and way up her butt! It looks ridiculous. I'm sure the men who walk behind her don't think so though. I definitely dress my body the way it is and not the way I wish it was. Sometimes I tend to buy things too big which is not really a good thing either though.

I know what you mean! I felt embarrassed for this woman the other day whose pants were so tight that I could see the dimples on her butt cheeks.

Re: Do your clothes fit?
Ugh this bothers me to no end. You can be overweight and still look good as long as your clothes fit.
On the flip side you can be super skinny and still look AWFUL if your clothes DON'T fit.
Right now, all my clothes are baggy which is good but bad, too.

Re: Do your clothes fit?
I think a lot of people do not wear clothes that fit. Either fat or skinny.
I think people do not know or take the time or get frustrated with the cookie cutter clothes of fashion.
IT IS hard to find clothes that match your body type. Again whether you are fat or skinny.
And it's a learning curve to not just follow fashion to the T.
But like I said in the other thread, just because it's "fahion" does not mean it will fit/look good on you.
For example, I can't wear low rises and skinny jeans. I am short. I look like a sausage squeezed in a casing. That's reality. Whether I buy my size or not. I don't even have to buy a size too small or too big for it not to fit. It just look like it does not fit me at all. Give me a pair of Jeans with straight leg and then it looks like it fits.
Fit to me does not mean clothes are too loose or too type, but that just don't fit your body type.
Just like some women look horrible in a pensil skirt because their body cannot look good in one, but suddently an A skirt looks great. Same size. Just different cut!

I agree, and I would think it would be very uncomfortable ot have your pants going up your rear like that or cutting off the circulation in your stomach...

Re: Do your clothes fit?
Honestly? No, my clothes are not fitting right now. I am pregnant and started to gain weight so my clothes are a bit snug. I am still too small for maternity clothes, so I went out yesterday and bought some cheap "in between" clothes and a belly band to get me by. It was probably me you saw in the mall lol.

Re: Do your clothes fit?
Just for the record, I am NOT referring to people who have gained 10 lbs and their pants are a little snug. Heck, I've been there too - and Beth I use the same reasoning you do!
I am talking about people (skinny or overweight) who are wearing clothes that are like 3-4 sizes too small. Skin tight, crack-baring, camel-toeing jeans with paper-thin t-shirts that barely cover your muffin top. Plus a belt.

I work with someone that resembles Olive Oil. All her clothes are way too big. She looks frumpy.

Re: Do your clothes fit?
If anything, I think sometimes I wear my clothes too big. I am very aware of my size and I don't like anything tight fitting. I don't get how people wear their clothes too small either. How can they even me comfortable?
There is a girl at work who is the same size as me and she looks like a stuffed sausage every day. Multiple rolls everywhere. I also have 2 friends IRL who do this too. I really don't get it
I also used to have a friend whose jeans were sooo small she couldn't zip them. But still wore them. Her gut was always sticking out and when a random stranger mentioned that her zipper was down, she would make believe it was broken. Um no sweetie - the zipper works fine, the pants just don't fit.

Re: Do your clothes fit?
At this moment in time -- no, my clothes do not fit. Everything is getting tight, everything is uncomfortable. I'm giving myself a month to drop these few pounds and if i don't do it by then, i need to shop for new clothes.

Re: Do your clothes fit?
i do because i wear stretchy stuff since i blew up. but at work man those blouses with the button hanging on for dear life is just funny to me. Also the pants that are so tight that you can see every dimple and underwear line is just I get it if money is the issue or you think you are going to trim down but after your walking around for a year with clothing barely hanging on for dear life its time to go up the next size or two.
My biggest eh is really heavy women who dress like really skinny street walkers. I don't want to see overhang popping out of baby girl shirts, I don't want to see your size 22 butt squeezing into a size 14 pair of jeans, etc. I am fat completely admit it but NEVER would subject anyone to see my rolls all over the place.

Re: Do your clothes fit?
I am super "fluffy" right now, have been since having my DDs... I am self conscious and uncomfortable at this size, its something i'm still not used to and would definitely not wear clothes that are too small for me!!!!
For some reason when I see people wearing REALLY small clothing I think that maybe they got it at thrift shops or garage sales because money is tight and it is what it is, it keeps them warm and so be it... not really sure why I think that

This is a huge pet peeve. I don't know what people are thinking when they look in the mirror. I am VERY aware of my baby belly and do what I can to hide it. I see women who are five sizes bigger than me wearing things that cover half of their belly. It's just embarrassing and I truly wonder if they see Kelly Ripa when they look in the mirror.
