I had Sydnie at 26 and it was perfect. I'd like one more before I am 32.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

I wished to have started earlier, but we didn't get married until I was 33. We were dating since I was 27 so I was a little annoyed it took that long.Chat Icon But DH had his reasons, and I guess in the end he was right. I had DD when I was 34/going on 35. I would have liked to have been done having kids by now...but them's the breaks!

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

Started trying at 30. Had numerous pregnancy losses and had my boys through IVF when I was 34. At the time I was miserable with everything I was going through. In the end we did get to do a lot of enjoying our marriage and built a strong base to get through the first couple of years having kidsChat Icon

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

Happy with when it happened.

I wa 17 and DH was 21 when we met. Were together for 6 yrs when we got married. We traveled and did things before we got married. I was 23 and he was 27. We decided to TTC right away and it took 7 months to get pregnant. I was 24 and DH was 28 when DS was born.

If we decided to only have one more I want to be done by 30. If we decide to go for a 3rd I want to be done by 32.

DH wishes we had kids earlier. he thinks he is old already now that he just turned 30Chat Icon

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

If I didn't have to deal with IF it would have been later. I was obsessed with getting pregnant, though, because I knew it would be difficult. I had DD at 24. We started trying when I was 21.

If we could get pregnant naturally, I would've liked to enjoy our marriage and friends for awhile first, but it is what it is. I wouldn't trade DD for anything.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

it was exactly when I always wanted to have my first (I was 30; we were married 5 years and I finished my doctorate), but this first year was made much more difficult by my mother's cancer, surgeries, and chemo treatments. Had I known, I would have waited to be able to devote all of my time and attention to her.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

LATER! had josh when i was 28. it was one crazy night, went back to condoms the next night, but the magic already happened!

we come from no money at all. i feel like when we really started living and traveling, it was over really quickly. then we went to one income.

but there was a plan. when #1 came, dh and I were in a very unhealthy club for just 2. I think if we would have waited a few years, dh's adjustment into fatherhood would have been much worse.

i had one at 28, the other at 31. dh is on a strong career path. my son is a dream who we could travel the world with, so instead of booking for 2, we will be booking for 4.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

When I was in college I wanted to get married by 25, and have children at 28 and 30. That did not happen. I met DH when I was 26. Got married at 28, had DS at 29 (I turned 30 two weeks later) and had DD at 32. Looking back now, I would not change a thing. I was able to go to law school, graduate, take and pass multiple bar exams and work. I feel extremely blessed.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

I know that it happened at the right time, I never would have been a good mom when I was younger..

But if I was able to trasnport us all back in time and have the same hubby and the same kid, I would go back 10 years for sure!!!!

I had DS at 39...... Didnt meet DH until I was 36 -- about to turn 37....

I wish I had them sooner BUT if I had them sooner I wouldn't have ended up with these two beauties so I guess it worked out. I just wish I was younger.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

I think I'd have to go with later. but I'm torn by that answer. I had DD 18 days after my 18th birthday. That wasn't planned. Obviously, it made my life drastically different from how I had envisioned it & complicated several things. I had DS at 21. He was planned.

Now, I'm torn. I always wanted to be a younger mother. 18 was a bit younger than I was thinking. I know it complicated my life & made some things much harder than they needed to be. Most of the time though, I honestly wouldn't change a thing. Hence why I added a second child intentionally at a still fairly young age. I love my kids. I sometimes wish I had finished school first, been in a good marriage first, had a home of my own & more money, but my life would be so much different if it had all been done that way. And honestly, I can't say that it would've been for the better.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

Perfect timing. I am in my very late 20's (29). Old enough to get the partying and law school/career out of the way, but young enough to keep up with the demanding schedule!

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

I'm pretty happy how it all worked out. We had DS according to "plan" but then DS #2 was a little harder and it took 10 months. I kind of wished it had happened sonner, but now that we're living it, I think the extra time was probably a good thing. Though I do still wish they were one grade-year closer so they would be in school together a little longer.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

Sooner, but I didn't meet DH until I was 33; married at 36, had Chat Icon 2 days after I turned 37; then Chat Icon at 38.

Ideally if we were married sooner; I would have liked to be finished having kiddos by 35. I know personally I wasn't mature enough to have kiddos before I was 30, 31, mininum.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

In a way sooner, but happy with when I had DD mainly. We got married at 25, so relatively young, but we traveled a lot and saved a lot, we bought a house and had done everything we wanted to, and got pregnant at 28 and had DD at 29

I am happy with the time I had DS, though I thought it would be a bit sooner. It took us a while to get pregnant.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

I think it was the perfect time for us (me 30, DH 32). We were married for 4.5 years, set in our jobs, owned a home and traveled a ton. Any sooner, I don't think our marriage could have handled it.

I had Chat Icon1 at 27 Chat Icon2 at 29 and Chat Icon at 32. I wouldn't change a thing about the timing but just wish I would've traveled more before having them!

It was perfect for me. I'm 36 and just had my first, but I got married when I was 34. I wouldn't change a thing.
Love my DH, love my DD, and feel I met my DH when I was ready for him.

Re: Do you wish you had your kid(s) sooner or later?

Sometimes I wish we would have waited, but other times I am happy.

I had my DD at 23 and my DS at 24. At that point, we were both working and had master's degrees. So I felt that we accomplished what we wanted.

The reason why I wish we would have waited was to get our finances in order a bit and enjoy being married.

However, we are now both almost 28 and we are done having kids. My kids will be 3 and 4. We are done with diapers, formula and baby items.

We are able to go out and do things fun with them.

When they are old enough to take care of themselves we will still be young.

At that point in our lives, we will be able to enjoy our 40's. Plus we will both be making more. So I figured that we will enjoy our 30s and 40s.
