Do you use your Kitchen Aid Mixer?
Maybe this belongs on recipes?
Anyway, I got a Kitchen Aid mixer for the wedding and still havent used it. I have about 4 more months left to return it to BBB for a refund.
Id like to keep it if it's going to be useful, but I still dont see a need for it (esp with a hand mixer?)
If you use yours, can you tell me what you use it for?

Any time I bake cookies or a cake I use it. It's great because you can get other stuff ready while the batter is mixing. I've used it for mashed potatoes, but wasn't crazy about how they came out.
On the rare occassions I've been ambitious enough to bake bread, I use the dough hook and it's fantastic.
Basically, though, I get the most use out of it around the holidays when I'm baking cookies. If you don't think you're going to get much use out of it, return it. BB&B gives cash back for registry items, and that might be more useful to you.

I bake several times a week (yes, I have a problem  ) and have used my Kitchen Aid exactly once since getting it 3 years ago.

All the time. I won't make cookies with out it. Mixing is so easy with it. I also whip cream in it and also mashed potatoes.

I threw out my hand mixer when I got the KitchenAid. I love it for all the baking I do, so I don't kill my wrist trying to mix things like cookie dough or scones.

I use it for baking all the time!
I have it out on my countertop so I do not have to pull it out all the time when I want to use it.
I bought a bunch of the attachments for it and I shread cheese and grind meat.

For me, it was not worth it. I bake, but I am not a regular at it and when I need to mix something, I use the hand mixer I got.
If you are really not going to use it and there are other things you can buy with the credit, I would go for it.

I got mine at my bridal shower in June of 05 and I have never used it. When we moved I actually trook it out of the box and put it on the counter and I still havent used it!!

Yes, for cookies, cakes, mashed potatoes, anything like that. I like it better than the hand mixer (and I begged for one for so long that I had better use the darn thing).

not yet, it sits on the counter and looks really pretty. I plan on using it over the holidays - it really is an expensive counter decoration

I use mine all the time..when I have time to do baking. I really enjoy baking and find it relaxing.
However with a toddler and a busy lifestyle, I don't et the chance that much.
I might bake something this weekend...

this is how i feel! i didn't have it on my registry, becasue i just didn;t think i would use it. but my moms cousin got one for me anyway. i really do like having it. i use it only a few times a year when i make cookies or bake other things.it really does make things easier, and i'm glad i have it. My grandmom got us the ice cream maker attachment for it last year for christmas and thats fun to use, too.
i think its really good if you can keep it out on your counter, beause then you'll use it more if you don't have to drag it out of the cabinet every time...

I bake fairly often & I use it every time, I also use it for mashed potatoes, yams & other stuff like that. I have the shredder attachment too which is cool.
I freecycled my handmixer when I got my kitchen aid.
