My Mom taught me this... At the end of each season she cuts the fronts of all of the cards into gift tags to be used the following year!
Some of them turn out really beautiful and it's a great way to recycle because some of the cards are soooo $$$ and pretty!

I keep the picture cards and write the date on the back...I like to see how people's children have grown through the years.

I keep them in the envelopes and they go in a box with decorations in the basement. Next year when I write out cards I send them to all the people that sent to us. Then they are thrown away.
I keep the picture cards I love seeing the kids and looking back at their old pictures.
I also make gift tags out of the nice cards. If a nice picture is on the front of the card I cut around it punch a hole in it and attach it with some ribbon to a gift. My mom taught me this little trick. I have way too much free time.

I do that too and my mom taught me that too. Are we sisters? They are smart ladies. People always compliment the tags.

My Aunt had showed me a beautiful album they started where my uncle and her were just married...all the cards they got and the kiddie picture cards...well it was so cool that she saves them over the years, cause now those kids are adults and they save all the picture cards.
I started doing this that christmas, I am saving them and put them into an album, it is amazing to watch the kids grow up after the years.
I thought it was a great idea than just throwing them away.

I throw them out. Not the picture ones though. I put those in with my ornaments. Since it's mostly pics of kids, its fun to see how little everyone was and how much they've grown.
