Actually, even though we know the gender, all expensive items will be gender neutral, since we'll likely want at least one more baked good

Yes and I love it. I always wondered why people didn't match their car seat fabric to their car rather than their baby No matter what I have I am using my friend's(who also had twins) red and black Graco infant seats. I may also inherit her Britax's depending on what her girls are in. I will try and get new covers since hers are very girly. They will be almost 4 by the time mine need to switch.

I think it is fine. We registered for the Pack N Play of that pattern because of its gender neutrality. Should our second child be a boy, we dont want to be stuck with a pink Pack N Play.
For some reason I think girls can get away with stuff that is more boyish than vice versa - talk about double standards from so early on.
