While I pop here and post, have IM, etc.. I may be busy and just do a quick post but I am really working on something. I would think they same of my friends.

totally. this is awful but sometimes at night when the phone rings at home, I see who it is and unless it's my mom or Dan's mom...I let the machine get it!
I do this too. It's not awful, it's just that I don't have time to chat. If they leave a message and it's important then I call them back.

NO way- I have 40 buddies on my list. If they all jumped on me with a simple "Hi" that would innevitably turn ninto a chat, I would be fired.

No.. Because I know that when I'm online I dont always drop a "hello" to the 20 people on my buddy list that are online. Most of the time I am busy doing something I really dont want to be bothered - but thats only when I have my away message on.
