Do you send holiday cards out to people who don't send?
When DH and I first got married, I sent out Christmas cards to EVERYONE (probably 75+). Now, I'm sending them to people who send one to us and to elderly family members.
What does everyone else do?

I have a 2 year rule...if I send you for two years and you don't send me...you are off the list.
I have cut down a lot of people that way!

Well not everyone who doesn't send. I send them to everyone I want to wish a happy holiday regardless of whether they do cards or not.

i dont send holiday cards to anyone, but i get a ton
i like to get them and think if its someone you are close with or want to stay in touch with, just send it dont go based on what they do

We don't send holiday cards (I've said before that it's a religious/cultural thing I think), and we never have. But we receive every year from a few non-Jewish friends and one extended family (DH's cousins) who are interfaith. I assume they just know that we don't send them, and they still include us on their list which is very thoughtful and appreciated!

I have never sent a single holiday card and never will. I still get tons of them. Not to be a grinch, but I'd be totally okay with not getting them, I wouldn't even notice their absence.

I have a 3 strikes you're out rule... If I don't get a card from you for 3 years in a row after I've been sending you one, then I stop sending.
Certain people aren't included in that though. Like immediate fam members and those who I know aren't able to send cards.

I do. Hubby's family is Jewish, so very few of them send cards. Some you can tell don't send cards but send as a card after they get ours. I continue to send based on relationship, not reciprocation

I do, unless something made me stop, like an ended friendship. Some people aren't into sending cards. I know I didn't send any out last year but I aways enjoy receiving.

basically this... if they're elderly I still keep them though, but its expensive for cards, stamps, and then I have to address them too so if someone doesn't want to send them I don't feel the need to keep doing it one sided.

Just for the record I asked DH just now if we could dress our pup up as Hanukkah Harry and send out cards. He said no. I called him a scrooge.

This was exactly what I did and do. My sister-in-law says you should still send them out to everyone even if others don't send it to you, but I don't agree

I sent out 110 this year & still thinking of people I should have sent to. I need to cut down so will start by seeing who sends a card this year also

This - I don't really keep track of who didn't send a card. But if I get a card from someone I didn't send to, I'll try to send one out right away or at least add them to the list for next year

Last 2 years I sent a ton out and got less than half in return. This year I'm sending to immediate family and the rest to only those who send to us.
I don't feel the need to keep wasting time and money on it if the person doesn't reciprocate.

Me too! I am going to keep on sending them to everyone, regardless of if I get a card in return.
On a side note, I get so sad when I don't get cards from relatives on years that I don't send out cards. We missed last year (the only year since 2006 that we misssed) because our DD was a super colicky baby and it just didn't happen. We hardly got any holiday cards. It just kind of stunk.

I send them to my wedding list, so yeah not all those people send to me but a lot do...
eta: I have weeded some people out...people we never see, hear from, addresses have even changed...also have added people.
