for things I "must" have or fall so in love with that I think about them. I usually will wait and if the item is still on my mind a week later, I will buy it! It seems like whenever I wait for items I LOVE to go on sale, they end up selling out!

I used to do that and got sick of stuff selling out by the time I decided to get it. so now if I really like something and it's not on sale, I buy it anyway. some stores do price adjustments within 30 days and I can always return it if I change my mind.

the reason I started this thread is b/c I went to Macy's on my lunch hour yesterday looking for pants. they were advertising huge sales (as always) so I was sure I would find something. I didn't have a lot of time but managed to find 2 pairs of pants that fit me well. one pair was by Nine West & the other was Kenneth Cole. so of course, neither pair was on sale   so I didn't buy them. I didn't feel like spending $140 on 2 pairs of pants.

rarely, but i am starting to more lately.
I used to NEVER pay full price. It was easy finding sale items in juniors sizes.
Now that im getting a little to old for juniors (work clothes, etc) i find that its harder to find clothes that fit well and are quality, so when i do find something I love and its not on sale, i'll buy it.
bc when i do buy somehting on sale, its usually another $30 to get it tailored anyway.

same for me with pants. I have to factor in $10-$12 (each) for hemming when I buy pants. I think the only brand I don't mind paying retail for is I.N.C. brand... they last forever.

I agree. If the clothes fit well and I look great in them and I really need the clothes, I will pay full price. If they are good quality, they will last. I tend to buy timeless pieces too that I can wear for more than one year.

Only sale stuff, b/c prices are too high. The sale price I pay is usually the retail price of that in the states. When I am in the US, I try to buy on sale, but if not I think the price is pretty reasonable.

It depends..If I LOVE it and they have my size then yes I will get it right away....most o fthe time I have an idea of things I want to buy so when I find them I snap them up. If i'm looking for season "filler" peices ie: sweaters, tanks, short sleeve tees for lounging or everyday running I buy on sale. I'll pay full price for a cute sweater or tank if it's a shirt I love, want, and will wear out for dinner, a movie, shopping, family things and so on. I like to look nice and when you have a large chest and are over weight it can be hard to find things that fit well, look nice, and are of quality

Barely ever.
I shop Lord & Taylor and there are always coupons. I have a hard time justifying $158 for jeans when I can get them at Marshalls for $69.99. It's just timing and patience.

Never!!! it is my policy to never pay full price for clothes! Everything goes on sale and nothign is worth the retail price anyway... If I miss it so be it, means it wasn't meant to be and there will be other pants/tops/shoes...
