Do you know how to put in/take our your carseat?***UPDATE first post***
Just curious...do you know how to install or move your carseat from one car to another?
I realized that in 3 years, I have never taken the carseat out of the car...and I don't know how to do it myself. I am going to have my BIL teach me how next weekend when they come to visit.
The reason I thought about it was today, I have a loaner car, because my car is at the dealer. If for whatever reason I had to go pick up DD today...I don't have her carseat in the loaner car, and if I had to go to the dealer to get hers out of my car...I wouldn't know how to do it.
****UPDATE****
So, I guess I jinxed myself, because my car was not ready to be picked up yesterday, they needed to order a part for it. So...I had to go to the dealer and get the carseat out of my car. I had printed the instructions from the manual online before I went. I could not figure out how to do it, and almost just cried...but then I figured it out  I got the carseat out of my car, and almost got it into the rental all by myself. I could not get the latch strap on the top to pull tightly, so one of the guys helped me. But, I watched what he did, so I can do it myself...since I will now have to put it back into my own car today when I pick it up. To me...the instructions for the latch seemed easier than the seatbelt, so that's why I chose that method!

No, I don't like moving our seat either. We did keep the manual in the glovebox though, so if needed I could refer to it. But I really SHOULD know how to do it, I agree.

DH has never done it alone though.

I technically know how - I just had it installed and inspected, but I'd still be scared - but, I am a paranoid new mom of a 3 week old!

Nope, no idea....I tried once and it just ended in a lot of cursing. DH is the official carseat mover.

no, I don't.
Vin is very anal about them being properly secured and so we hardly ever take them out unless it is to tighten them up.
I'm sure it's easy but just something I never had to do before because he is the "expert" since he went to have them installed.

I've never personally done it because I've read that your not supposed to move the carseat back and forth. But I was taught during the inspection, and DH has done it before, so I would just call him in an emergency type of situation.

I did when we were using the LATCH system. Now my kids weigh too much to use LATCH and we have to use the seatbelts and I'm not as confident with that. I had Carseat Chris put them in and I hope not to have to move them.

we had a policeman put it in, and its so tight in their.
I had no idea how to take it out, dh did for when we traveled, but made it as tight as cop did originally.
I could not put josh in ambulance first time without his carseat, they needed to strap it to stretcher.
what a scene. josh on oxygen in lobby of ped's offce. 2 ambulances waiting...sending me out for carseat. I had no idea and almost chewed through the freaking latch straps. I just cried and then a guy came out to help.
so, after that we stopped using latch straps.

Yes - I've had to do it twice recently, both with the latch system and the seatbelt. I always re-read the instructions to make sure i'm doing it right, but the seat I have (Britax) is super easy to use.

Nope no clue. Although I am sure I could figure it out (we still have the manual). We also haven't had to move it.

I do and can show you how to do it! I am the official car seat installer and have had to do it MANY times to bring them on vacations.
DH has no clue how to do it

Yes. It's confusing to figure out initially, but once you do it or see it done, it's not that hard really.
