Do you keep your kids school work sheets?

The kids school work sheets are starting to add up. Am I supposed to keep all of the dittos sent home of completed work and for how long? I have them all still but I am not sure what I am supposed to do with it. I am talking about elementary K-2 level work. I absolutely hate clutter/saving things I don’t need.

Now they almost go in the garbage immediately. In the beginning I saved. Now I only save projects and tests. At the end of the year I purge again.

Oh heck no.

I'll save the really good projects, some writing assignments, journals, or anything that really stands out. The day to day work goes right in the recycling bin.

Most go right in the recycling bin but I keep a few things here and there.

I have a small bin for dd. I slowly try and purge it. She is obsessed with it and puts all her work in it every night.

No! As soon as she goes to bed they go in the trash (hidden underneath other garbage because one morning she found it and said “oh mom, you accidentally threw out my work”).

I have a big portfolio that I’ll keep some projects and more sentimental stuff in.

I have a folder for each year that I save special projects or writings bit homework and classwork gets recycled.

I don't keep basic worksheets, just the more special work, like art projects, graded tests, and once in a while a worksheet if she did a particularly good job on it or somethingabout it stands out enough to make me want to keep it. But most run of the mill classwork and homework goes directly in the trash as soon as I take it out of her folder.

They go from the folder directly to the trash.

I kept all her stuff from last year when she was in Nursery. Because it really showed how she progressed through the year...

they dont send anything good home in universal prek.

No. Most stuff from Preschool I kept. Now in elementary there's nothing worth keeping. Some good grades for a big test and anything with pictures of them on it or holiday projects. Other than that it goes in the garbage.

Homework stuff goes into recycling, I take a photo of artwork then throw it away, and I only keep stuff that I think is really good (artwork), has a handprint, or is something written specifically for me (Valentine cards or Mother's Day card).

DS is in first grade, and DS 2 is in preschool. I have one folder for each of them for the year. I put anything in that i want to save... and then i go through it over the summer and weed it down even more. I really only keep the stuff thats made as like gifts for me or DH. or, for my older DS, some cute writing stuff like the thing he came home with where he wrote "I want to be a physical therapist and build robotic parts to help people" bc i think it'll be cute to look back on later. but the day to day stuff goes right in the trash! LOL

The first half of kindergarten.. yes I did. Then I smartened up and it goes right into the garbage unless I know he can reference it for an upcoming test.

I keep special projects that stand out. Everyday worksheets gets tossed. I take pictures of all art projects, keep ones that have their hand prints or Holiday ones that we can display that particular holiday. I then upload all the pictures and make art books from Shutterfly so they can see their projects for that school year as they get older.

No way. I would be drowning in paper. I just keep a couple special things each year. Regular worksheets go right in the trash.

I mean does anyone really go back and look at at a class work worksheet that they did for their morning work in the 2nd grade, 5 years later?
Who would even have time for that?

I stuff everything in a drawer and clean it out periodically. If it's a project, I'll keep it. But just regular worksheets, I toss.

Trash them. The ONLY things I keep are their projects and their writing. I love to go back and look at their writing journals and see how they have progressed. Plus, the stories are adorable. Worksheets though, I just trash. Too much clutter to store.
