Do you give any family member/friends kids gifts that aren't toys? (I'm looking for ideas)
I feel like they have sooooo many toys.
Its for an Almost 7 year old & 2 year old girls.

I always think PJs are a useful gift. For an almost 7 year-old, if she has an American Girl doll, you can buy her an outfit that comes with the matching dol outfit. You don't have to buy it at Am. Girl because its very expensive, but Marshalls, TJ Maxx regularly have knock-offs. And don't laugh, but Sears has a big selection!

These are great! Keep them coming!!! I like the gift certificate ideas! Maybe I'll make a gift box filled with fun stuff & this way they gave something to open (plus I have to mail it since it's OOS)
How is Highlights? I had it as a kid, would an almost 7yo like it?

I have to give to 8 (yes .. eight) boys this Christmas ranging from 4.5 yrs down to 1..
and I feel like they have every toy imaginable .. so I think I am getting something personalized for all of them...either from pottery barn kids or Etsy...
Been looking all night tonight online while watching tv 
Was thinking making it easy for me and getting personalized beach towels...I saw some on BOTH PBK and ETSY...just have to decide...
but I am curious if anyone on here have better suggestions! Thanks for posting!

what about tickets to some musical they like? like something on ice maybe?
or a day to the bronx zoo....
an outing of somekind is where my mind is.

if you do the beach towels I'd go all out with it. Do a pail with sand stuff too. a bathing suit. etc.

The only thing I don't like about PBK is that they only have 2 designs and 3 of the boys are brothers that I need them for ...so I need 3 different designs. That is why I started to research elsewhere!

The PBK jewelry boxes are really cute for little girls. They have a bunch of different styles & it's something I feel you can never have too many of. You could even put some costume jewelry inside.

This year we bought matching pajamas and slippers for friends/relatives' kids. Target had adorable Lightening McQueen slippers and pajamas so we got some of those for the boys and they also had cute Dora slippers/pajamas as well for the girls. The older kids got Spongebob. The outfits look so cute!

Go to Kidlandia.com and get something personalized. We got my 6 year old cousin a treasure map, and all the landmarks were names of family members. Huge hit.

we pretty much have a rule that we don't give gifts to our nieces/nephews/godchildren (VIKids as I call them) that live in the area. We almost always try to find an event or a special place to take them too.
past gifts have included
group trip Ice skating at Rockefeller Center
group horseback riding
this year we are taking them to see an Hansel and Gretel at the Metropolitan Opera House for the matinee and then we'll have lunch.
we also usually either go out to dinner or have a cool sleep over.
I say group b/c it's usually at least 5 kids, and sometimes their parents come along.
obviously if you dont' want to actually do these thngs with the kids, you could just buy the tickets for them...but to us that is part of the gift. enjoying this time with them. it's so much fun!!!!
ETA: ugh DUH i Just read you are OOS. for the OOS guys, we send money or put money into their 529 (we opened one for each of our VIKids)
what about doing something like a family movie night...for exampe the movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Grinch pj's (I know PBK has them) and a tin of jiffy pop with some retro popcorn bowls OR some cute hot chocolate mugs with a nice jar of hot chocolate (WS has a cute hot chocolate collection)
you could do the same with Happy Feet (the movie, plus penguin pj's and hot cocoa stuff)
