Do you find you can only write neatly with certain pens?
I feel my handwriting changes depending on the pen. My handwriting will vary from illegible to beautiful, all depending on the pen!!!
anyone else?

I need to write with a fine pen otherwise no matter how hard I try my handwritting always looks sloppy.

absolutely !!!!!!!
I HATE black ink.
I LOVE purple ink (and blue if there's no purple around).
I have issues 
I HATE crappy ink whatever the color.
I HATE gel pens.
so yes, I agree. 
I even feel that the thickness, shape of the grip area of the pen affects how I write.

I went shopping yesterday and I was looking for new pens but, didn't like any of the ones I saw.
DH will just buy the regular PaperMate cheapies but, I need a fine point pen (preferably a roller ball).

Yes! I thought it was just me. My handwriting is near illegible when i use a fine point, and perfect when I use a medium point.

I'm a lefty. That alone should tell you my answer.
I started using those slip on cushions to prevent a callus when I was studying for the bar exam (in 1993). I never stopped. I recently discovered that I can barely write without them.

Yes me too! I llove to use Med. Point Blue Ink, but @ work I have to use Black Ink, I know what you mean certain pens make the writing look better

Yes, The pen makes a difference with my horrible handwritting.
Bic's are the worst for me. I also end up wearing the ink all over my hands.

Yes. And I find my handwriting is better if i'm writing on a full pad of paper (or something thick underneath the paper i'm writing on) rather than writing on a single sheet on a desk.

i totally have different writing depending on the pen
im a lefty. so my writing is pretty horrendous, thus noticible when i change pens and it looks better

Yes, fine point/extra fine point pens....and they should be gel/liquid ink but really fine point is what I need.
medium I tend to write very bubbly
