Do you dress up for the holidays?

I always dress my kids up, but never myself. I tend to stick with skinny jeans/pants and nice tops or sweaters. I hate the way I look in dresses and skirts probably because if I find them to fit my boobs, they make me look fat or pregnant

What's your go-to holiday outfit?

Usually black pants, boots and a nice sweater on Christmas Eve. DH's family does the whole feast of fishes and it goes on until at least 2 in the morning so I want to be as comfy as possible.

Christmas day, we host, and do not dress up. Maybe jeans but it's often lounge wear for part of the day.

I usually host brunch.

Christmas Eve I do like to wear a dress and have DH and DD dress up too...Christmas Day, I am more casual.

Christmas eve and new years eve we dress a little nicer. DD usually in a holiday dress. DH nice jeans and button down shirt or sweater. Me, nice dress and top or leggings and sweater dress.
Christmas day and new years day we are very causual. I usually wear something like a juicy velour outfit. Same with DD. DH a tee and jeans or track suit as well.
We like to be comfy. It gets very hot. And the kids are running around like crazy.

Jeans, heels or boots, sweater. At this point, no one in our extended family has little kids so no one is overly dressed up.

I do! Thanksgiving I usually wear a dress, Christmas Eve is at my moms, I don't really dress for that, but I do wear jeans with a fun sparkly top and heels/boots. Christmas Day I'm usually in a dress.

Usually black pants and a nice top, at first anyway. After the wine has been flowing for a few hours it isn't uncommon for us all to be in sweats/PJs lol.

Christmas I host, so no dressing up, its jeans a tshirt and apron for me

Absolutely. I enjoy dressing up, and I think it's a nice gesture to look nice for any holiday.

Yes! Either a dress or an elegant pants/sweater combo. I don't need to look back at pictures of Christmas and see me looking like a slob next to DD who I spent hours planning an outfit for lol


DH's family does not dress up at all. . . I never feel weird about being overdressed and I always prefer it to being underdressed!

Pretty much the same thing- maybe a sweater dress and leggings but usually jeans and a nice top or sweater and boots.

I do a little bit, jeans nice tops and boots or a sweaterdress. But no one in our families really dress up anymore.

I do try to dress up. Nothing over the top like a cocktail dress or anything but maybe a cute dress or skirt.

But I hate how I look in pants so maybe that's part of it!!

I almost always wear a dress for Thanksgiving, since it's at the IL's house and they have like 30 people. It's usually a sweater dress.

For Christmas Eve I usually do jeans and a nice sweater b/c it's just DH and I with my mother and my sister. For Christmas, I host, so I usually do black pants and a fun top so I can be dressed, but still comfortable.

Christmas eve, yes. Christmas day, just jeans and a nice sweater.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I prefer not to wear jeans on holidays in general - I was raised that you always get dressed up for the holidays - but sometimes my kids and I are the only 3 people dressed and it makes me feel a little pretentious.

Yes....me and the kids are always dressed up. DH never, he will wear nice jeans and maybe a button down or polo but thats it.

I was almost 6 months pregnant last Christmas and almost 8 months pregnant the Christmas before that! I wore dark skinny jeans and sweaters both years.

This year, I am not pregnant and have been looking for something a little nicer to wear. I think I want to wear a sweater dress for one of the days. I also just ordered new skinny black pants and was going to look for a nicer sweater to wear.

I always try to look a little "nicer" at the holidays... but I wouldn't exactly call it dressing up. I just try to look nicer than if I was just going to the mall.

same as you, 100%. I dress DS up but never myself. I do my hair and makeup and usually dress pants and a sweater.
