Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

I try to make dinner 5 times a week. often it is less though. But I am just sick of eating out in general and feel healthier when i cook - and it is so much cheaper!

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

pretty much 6 out of 7 days ... It's cheaper, it's healthier and I'm a pretty good cook. DH will sometimes cook on the weekends.
I also cook breakfast and lunch for my DS and I (and the kid I babysit for and any playdates) - my kitchen is grand central at any given moment...

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

i try to cook mon-thurs and give myself off fri-sunday! or just eat leftovers then. I figured i'm a SAHM so the least I could do is have dinner for DH

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

I don't cook every night, but we eat home cooked food almost every night!

Mon through Fri, I do all the cooking (SAHM). But I often make stuff that will yield leftovers for the next night. I also cook big batches of stuff to divide and freeze.

On weekends, DH will often cook one, if not both, nights.

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

No... myself, 2 to 3 nights a week. DH cooks an Omaha steaks meat once or twice a week. It's only 2 of us so there are always a lot of leftovers.

I don't really like to cook, but the hardest part is deciding WHAT to cook.

Oh we rarely eat out, though, and that is usually lunch!

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

After 38 yrs. of marriage, it's hard to know what to cook!!! I only found out in recent yrs. that DH, doesn't like greenbeans !!! Wow, thanks for telling me hon!!!! Seriously, my DH, as he's approaching his Golden yrs. is entering a time when he doesn't eat as much as he use to. I saw the same thing happen to my Grandmother/Mom. So, he eats small microwave meals. Sometimes, I'll make a huge portion of something, enough for several days, but rarely. Mary

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

I cook usually 6 nights a week and have one "off" night where we either go out or get take out. I usually make everything from scratch. On the weekends I also make breakfast and lunch if we are home. I will admit now with a toddler and 5 months pregnant, and a full time job, it is getting a bit harder because I am exhausted!!

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

I cook pretty much every.single.night. Once a week we might have a take away, might not.

At the moment I have just run out of things to cook, my husband doesn't always like the new things that I cook, and my repetoire is just plain old boring. I used to use my BBQ once or twice a week, but my BBQ fell apart and I need to wait until spring to get a new one. But honestly, without my BBQ, I have lost my mojo. I seem to cook these things:
Spaghetti Bolognaise
Roast Chicken w/potato & veg
Jerk Pork Chops w/coconut rice & veg
Toad in the Hole (sausages baked in batter)
Chicken & Chorizo Bean Casserole
Stir Fry w/Pork Belly
Salmon w/rice & broccoli

Thats about it...I am failing as a wife and mother!Chat Icon

Can I just say, my husband expects either a hot meal or a BJ every night, and I would rather spend an hour in the kitchen Chat Icon just kidding, but he does expect a freaking hot meal every night. Drives me nuts.

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

No.

I get home after DH and I'm on a diet anyways... so I'd have to cook two separate things for the two of us.

We usually fend for ourselves during the week and I'll cook big stuff on the weekends and then portion it out so DH can have some leftovers throughout the week.

I'm sure I'll end up doing a more expanded version of this after we have kids or something depending on what my hours are like then.

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

I cook about 5 nights a week on average. We usually go out or go to my moms for dinner the other 2 nights.

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

yes. I always cook dinner for us all (me, DH and 2 kids). I eat with the kids and DH will eat when he gets home about 9.

I would say once a week we order take-out or go out to eat something. But it's not every week. I stock my freezer and always have something to make. There are some nights where we have soup and grilled cheese or breakfast for dinner, but I still cook it!

I cook more or less every night, unless we have leftovers and even then we usually only have leftover meat, so I make new sides every night.

Re: Do you cook dinner everyday?

I work late 3 nights a week so I do most of the cooking on Sundays. During the week will be veggies and side dishes and heating up the main dish. Unless it is quick and easy it'll be done that night. Maybe take out once a week.
