do any of you NOT use a
changing table? or if you do, do you love it? i have a pretty small nursery and i have a crib that the bar comes all the way down..so it will be easy to change the baby in the crib..i bought changing pads to lay down to change also..if i had to i could squeeze achanging table in there but i was wondering if it was necessary..i already have furniture and the dresser is too high to put a pad on..thanks!!

Re: do any of you NOT use a
I know alot of people who dont use one. They use the floor or the crib. When Sydney was in the basinet it was in our room and instead of going into her room to use the changing table I would just change her on the floor.

I've always changed her on the floor. Considering how much she moves I can't imagine using a table.

I use one but it also doubles up as her dresser (it has drawers). I like it but if you have an existing dresser then you really don't need a changing table also. Just put the pad on top and walah.......you got a changing table

I use it for every diaper change, I love it! However, it's not necessary. My SIL converting the top of her dresser into one.

Re: do any of you NOT use a
We have the dresser that has that is also the changing table and I use it all the time. It's the perfect height for me to change her. However, I can totally see doing without it. I cover it with those disposable changing pads, anyway, so I could conceivably be changing her anywhere! I would see how it is without it, then you could always get one later.

We used a changing pad on top of a dresser. Later when you need to pin them down, we switched to the floor.

Re: do any of you NOT use a
I use mine almost all the time to change and dress her. I would think that doing it in the crib would be bending down too far and would hurt my back. I know it would at least hurt DH's back. He already has trouble using the changing table -- he says it is too low for him. When we were visiting my sister, we used the kitchen counter with a changing pad on it. That seemed to be the perfect height for him (he is 6'1"). If you really can't fit one into the nursery, there are plenty of other options and you and DH will figure out what works best for you.

Re: do any of you NOT use a
We have a pad on top of her dresser in the nursery which is removable for when she is out of diapers. We also have 2 Pack and plays with the changing pad as well. One on the main floor den and one in the finished basement we spend a lot if time there. We wanted something on all 3 floors of our house.

Re: do any of you NOT use a
i have two kids and i never even bothered buying a changing table. i use my bed, the couch, the floor. so much easier and faster and one less thing to put in the nursery. plus they outgrow it so fast. all my friends with babies told me to just skip the chaging table, i did, and they were right

Re: do any of you NOT use a
I used one of those changing mattresses on the dresser. I loved it and it didnt hurt my back to change him at all. The crib might be fine for now, but once you lower it it will be too hard.
That being said I had a friend who had one and NEVER used it.
If you dont have room. Dont worry.
