Re: Disney hotel recommendation please???
I've yet to take my kids but we've been to Disney countless times. We really LOVED Port Orleans Riverside. It was beautiful, the grounds were stunning. We had a wonderful stay.
If you're willing to shell out big money, I LOVE the Polynesian.
ETA - PO Riverside has the Royal Rooms now too. If your daughter loves the princesses she will probably flip over that room.

Re: Disney hotel recommendation please???
For convenience sake we stayed at Bay Lake Tower. Its on the monorail line and only a 10 min walk to MK. Highly recommend w little ones especially if you plan on doing a few days at MK. Not to mention Chef Mickey is right across the skyway bridge at Contemporary. We watched Wishes every night from our room or on the bridge and when its done you wait 5 mins turn around and the electric water pagaent starts right on bay lake!
ETA: Poly is beautiful and on monorail too (thats where we were booked originally!) but its under construction until next year. So depending on when youre going i would take that into consideration.

I like the Contemporary because you can walk to the magic kingdom. Last two times we've stayed at the Hilton Bonnet Creek. It was really nice and we got a good price. I know they have shuttles, but I didn't even look at how often because we were driving to the parks.

Re: Disney hotel recommendation please???
What is your budget...
We just got back from our 2nd POR trip (royal room and preferred view this past time) loved both. Girls are begging to go back. Great pool slide, boat to DTD, carriage rides, marshmallow roasting, etc.
We have had great trips at the POLY as well but I would NEVER RECOMMEND IT right now due to the construction and major changes going on. I would wait until they are fully completed to return.
AKL was a fabulous resort as well. Especially if your family loves animals.
Budget really plays a role although...we love POR even though we could go deluxe we actually found POR more relaxing. We felt guilty at the POLY for not being at the parks bc you could see them. We felt like we got more of a break at POR and AKL.
Beach club has an amazing pool complex. Great for older kids.

POR fits that description. I have some pictures. Also check our portorleans.org....it is the unofficial page for riverside and French quarter.

Turning a few long houses into DVC, building over water bungalows, right now the CS location is closed and relocated to the staff cafeteria, making changes to the GCH (removing the water feature and redesigning it), doing work on the pool. Some will be done in stages but go read tikiman's FB...I keep seeing construction photos.
Also changing the name back to Polynesian villages

we are staying at the Beach Club this summer. But it is pricey. I hear good things about Port Orleans and even Carribean beach!

They are doing a lot more than a parking lot. They are putting up walls now in the main building, closing the pool in July until 2015, working on bus area, etc. Sad bc it is a great hotel!
If anyone wants to see work check out tikiman's FB page he has tons of update photos so no surprises.

The royal rooms were a lot of fun last year. We tried the preferred rooms this trip. We were in building 14... 1461 and 1462. Could see the water, very close building 14 is next to the main building and right outside of the food court! Short walk to the pool. We loved the royal rooms, but greatly preferred the preferred view location. The girls fought over who would sleep in the alligator/Tirana and naveen as frogs pull down bed. We finally hot to roast marshmallows this trip too.
