Dining table chair broken when delivered -- did not notice:

We bought our dining room table and matching hutch from Raymour in August and it was delivered. When they brought it, I checked it over for cuts, scratches, the usual. I looked at it -- I watched them carry in each chair, I sat in one or two. Done.

OK, everything looked great.

It's been a couple of months now -- DH and I have had dinner on it about 5x total since we got it. DH was sitting in "his chair" lol it's just the one he always sits in at the head (it's an arm chair)... and he had his arm resting and felt the arm rest MOVE. It is detached from the rest of the chair!

You would never notice this unless you knew to look and PICK up the arm from the chair. We had no clue! I never checked every arm and tried to pull on the wood! It looks like there was a vein in the wood or something and it was split.

Are we screwed? We didn't get the protection plan because I had a bad experience once with a plan that said it would cover "everything" however the one stain I had ended up getting on the piece was not covered lol. Seemed like a scam. Anywho, no plan but then again, it arrived this way so I don't think it should be considered a plan issue.

What should I do? I guess we should go down there in person?

I would def bring the chair in and explain the situation. I think they should do right by you...for one chair...that your story makes sense about....

Can't hurt to try! Either way, I would think they should be able to at least repair it, but they could be sticklers if they want to be.

Did you pay by CC? You might be protected through that if the store won't take care of it.

It should have some type of warranty for a year or so. Did you purchase a protection plan??

I would think it would have a 1 year manufacturer warranty at the very least. We bought our set there in July as well and one of the chairs broke. We have the protection plan though so they did come and fix it right away. I would call the store directly...

Raymour & Flannigan are really good w fixing things. They came last week and fixed my couch frame that we did not purchase an extended warranty but the frame was lifetime warranted from the manufacturer. I would absolutely call them and explain, they will help you for sure. Good luck !
