Did your husband go to your first doctor appt with you?
I know every doctor is differant, and it probably depends on how far along they think you are, but DH wants to go with me incase they listen/look for a heartbeat..even though I am probably only 5 weeks preggo (since ovulation).
But I told him they will probably do a pap and stuff, so I don't even know if they will let him in the room.
Did your husband go with you to your first appt? And what did they do at that appt? My appt is on thurs, and I'm wondering if I should just call and ask what they do so I can tell DH if he should come or not

My first one - no
He was suppose to but got stuck at work
I just had to answer some questions and they did a pap and breast exam. Then they gave me a script for bloodwork
He has come to every appointment since though!

Yes he did, he has gone to them all...but at my first appt, They took blood, urine, and did a sono b/c I had some spotting.

Mine did come. I don't think he'll come to all of the subsequent visits, it's a lot of time to take off from work.
My first appt was at 9 weeks, we did a sonogram (we saw the heart beating, but didn't hear it), they did vaginal cultures and took 8 vials of blood for testing. They also did a complete medical history, the Dr. had questions for me and for DH.

Mine came as well and i was 8 weeks along.
My husband comes to every important appointment that involves a sono and/or blood results (ultrascreen).

Ooh - thanks! I was wondering the same thing! I went once by myself already for a consultation (I was on lots of meds & needed to know which were safe to take) & they took blood, but that was it. My next appt. is next week & I'll be about 7 1/2 weeks so I guess they might do a sono then. I'll make sure he comes!

Yes my husband went with me, and he was allowed in the room. They did a urine test, a pap smear, and they also did a sono (they thought I was further along than I really was) and he did an internal to check my uterus.
He will probably do everything but the sono at this point. Good luck!

i only have DH come to appts that have sonos. i don't want him leaving work early to just hear the heartbeat.
he has come to every one that has a sono--which my first appt at 7 weeks did.

My DH has been to every OB appt since day one. I would bring him!! It's an exciting time for you both and he sounds like he wants to be involved. And it doesn't matter if you get a Pap or not. DH will stay in the room regardless.

DH has been to every appt. so far. We started off at the RE and were able to have 2 sonograms off the bat. He's also come to all of my obgyn appts. even though I told him he doesn't have to. He is so excited he wants to experience everything. He comes in the room each time.

first one no bc it was really just a pap, and the sono didn't show much, I was o nly 5 weeks, but he came to the one where we sat and talked about what to eat and all that kind of stuff. he came to my ultrascreen and the growth sono, that's it.

My DH did, hes been really good on trying to come to all of them...if you're 5 weeks from Ovulation, that means you are probably closer to 7 weeks depending on your cycle....which means there is a chance you will have a sono!!!!

yup, my dh was there, in the room while they did the pap and everything...
he just sat in the chair.- it was off to the side and i had a drape over my legs so its not like he could see anything weird going on down there.
and they did do a ultrasound ( the one that goes inside) and i was glad he was there for that.
so far i've had 2 appts. and he is 2 for 2.
i have one more in 2 weeks and he will be present as well...

My DH didn't come to my first one because of work. My mom came with me instead. I told DH not to worry about it, and deep down I wanted my mom there cause it was a surprise pregnancy and I was in a total state of shock. At the first appt, they took a urine sample, blood, and did an internal sonogram.
Otherwise he's come to every other appointment.

Yes, he came with me to the first appointment and the first sono. Honestly, I am thrilled that DH wanted to be there, but it was kind of awkward talking to the Dr. about my sexual history etc. in front of DH. (New Doctor...) He left when I had to get undressed for the examination.

I went at 5.5 weeks because of spotting... I had a pap, the blood work done, peed in a cup, and had a sono (because of the spotting).
He was there and in the same room the whole time (except for when I provided the urine sample in the bathroom  )
