We had one that was called an "IF consult" and they asked that we both be present...

Since our first appt. concerning TTC was going to be with a brand new doctor--my DH wanted to come with me and meet him and be sure he felt comfortable with him as well...since it's a good chance that this would be the doc we'd be going thru all the TTC and pregnancy process and possibly delivering a baby.
DH was able to sit with me in the office during our consultation and talk with the doc and ask questions...I was so happy he came...made the TTC start feel even more real

I would call to ask what the appt might entail and then decide from there.
Come to think of it, for the kind of appt you are having, I probably would want DH there. You are hatching a fertility plan and you are in it together.

Oh okay.
So I'd have DH come with you - see if your ob/gyn can give him a lab slip for an SA - and you might be able to do an ultrasound, CD 3 and CD 21 bloodwork. Next up would probably be an HSG. After that - once you pass the 6th month mark, I'd say you could go to an RE.

I didn't bring him to the GYN, but did bring him for the appt with the RE----in that case, I thought it was important for him to know what was going on.

I just talked to my doc when I went for my annual, so DH didn't come. If we have any problems TTC, then he'll come. Right now his only question is when can we start!

I probably wouldn't ask him to come to just a regular appt to talk about TTC. I would only have him come if I was going to a specialist.

DH came with me to the first appt when we officially discussed coming off of BC and TTC (which took place a few months after coming off)...
I have to say, he's been fairly pro-active in the process... tho doesn't want me to test when it's not necessary (ie too early)
