No. We met at 32 and 35... at the age of 35 if he needed "a break" that would have been the end. I think I would have given him a different kind of break...LOL.
I could see it if you are very young or if a school/work situation causes you to have a long distance between you for a while.

that was basically our situation. I sometimes think it was the best thing we ever did for our relationship/piece of mind... though, there were some parts that were definitely painful, i never regretted it

We only dated a short time before getting engaged though. I was 27 and he was 33 and we got engaged after dating about 15 months and then married a year after that so not a lot of time for breaking up. I don't think either of ever thought about it though. For us we both just knew right away that this was it.
Now my previous long relationship was full of break ups.

No, we dated for about a year and half and got engaged and married 9 months later.
I think it was different for us, I was 29 when I met him, he was 27 - we both lived on our own and both had realtionships before ours that weren't the greatest, so when we started dating we knew we were meant for each other and there would be no one else

No...we met when I was 29 and DH was 38. So...I think we were past that point. We also only dated for 7 months before we got engaged...and we got married 7 months later. So...when we got married, we had only really been together a total of 14 months

No, thankfully. And even now, I think, if ever we did, we'd still date each other. He's like blood to me, breaking up still wouldn't break our bond, if that makes sense.

We never broke up but at one point the thought crossed my mind, but I loved him too much to give up on the relationship and we worked it out.

Well, kind of. it lasted less than 24 hours
We were both stressed, and we were just kind of getting on each others nerves 
But yeah, we didn't last all that long.

we did, my family was moving back to NY, we broke up, I moved, then DH called me a week later to come back and he will take care of me. I moved back to FL and the rest is history

Same here. except it was two nights. I actually went away for the weekend to family's house, and when i came back, we realized how much we truly love each other, and couldn't stand to be apart.
