did anyone hear about the camp counselors who were killed?
On the Meadowbrook yesterday?
there were 5 camp counselors from a special needs camp called Camp Anchor

Yes. It is so awful.  The two sisters live down the street from my friend's parents, and were friends with her cousin. Have they given a reason for the crash yet? I know that alcohol was ruled out. It sounds like they were all nice kids from nice families. So tragic.

I thought about it being cell phone related too. I hope not. Not that any reason is good.

It's so sad
I hate to admit it, but, I was also thinking of cell phone.
They interviewed the dad on News12 last night (the dad of the 2 sisters), so very sad.

So sad. I read about this in Newsday. Two sisters. That poor family. Also another kid and I think the other two are in the hospital. I don't know their condition.

That is what I am thinking also...I know someone that was paralyzed from the neck down from being cut off on the Northern State many years ago...the problem is...we may never know what exactly what happen

They were my cousin's very close friends. She works at Camp Anchor and the two girls were her junior counselors last year. They were great kids apparently. My poor cousin is devastated, she just lost 3 close friends in a matter of minutes.

Yes My sister's best friend is a counselor there & they were friends of hers. It's so sad. My heart goes out to their families.

I actually gasped when i found out 2 of them were sisters and then cried. I cant imagine the pain and grief for both families. My absolute worst nightmare.

And what a wonderful organization they were working for. I worked there as a teen. The world lost 5 special people in that crash I'm sure.

So tragic. I can't even imagine to begin to know the pain of those families...
My first thought was not alcohol or cell phone use. I had heard that the crash happened about 8:45 am and they were to be at Camp Anchor at 9 am. I can only surmise that speed played a huge factor. Getting cut off, going fast, uggh, I can't imagine it!

My mom knew the two girls She didn't know what had happened and I told her...I felt awful yesterday

does anyone know the condition of the 2 survivors, last I heard, one was stable, not sure of the other
ugh, that family, to lose TWO of your children
