Re: Diapers
I would recommend getting two small packs one of Huggies and one of Pampers. You never know how baby will react to either. If you're considering other brands get a small pack of those as well. Don't pile on one brand cuz u never know...

Re: Diapers
Thanks! I will try that. Wasn't sure if there was a "best" brand or what...

Diapers
I tried many brands but I was looking for one without any extra chemicals because at the time, babies were reported being "burned' by some in diapers..we tried Earth's Best (and love them), Seventh Generation (run small) and Nature babycare (was good before baby was mobile)...

I loved the pampers swaddlers newborn. Don't stock up on newborn size. In fact the hospital only uses size 1 and they give you tons! Take an extra bag to stock up.

Pampers was my fav!
Also, don't buy too many newborn sized diapers. Some only go up to 8 pounds! I made that mistake with my first DD and she was over 9 pounds! Lol they were all a waste

Good to know about the newborn sizes - I guess I will just get a few to hold me over when I get home!

Re: Diapers
They used Pampers in the hospital, and they seemed to work fine for us so I continued using them. I ended up with Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive. Now that she is older I found the Target brand and they are so much cheaper.

Re: Diapers
I preferred Pampers and Luvs. Huggies did not do the job.

Re: Diapers
More than likely the hospital will use pampers swaddlers.
I had Huggins and pampers at home. DD leaked out of the Huggins, but not the pampers, so that is what we used.
When your DC is born, you will see what works for them and then go from there.

We had to use pampers sensitive because of horrible diaper rash and couldn't even use wipes for MONTHS!! Bounty quilted napkins did the trick for the mean time!

Re: Diapers
Pampers swaddlers and unlike many others my 7 lb 1 oz baby was in NB size for almost a month! They just seemed to fit him better than size 1s for a while.

Re: Diapers
The hospital has been using Pampers Swaddlers for my girl and she's been fine with them, so that's what I plan to continue her with.

Re: Diapers
I always used pamper swaddlers sensitive for my boys. I like them a lot. I'm thinking I may try Honest diapers this time around. I have used them many times with my younger DS but starred when he was around 5 months. So I'm not sure how they are as newborn diapers. Not crazy about Honest wipes but I love Seventh Generation wipes. I was never happy with either huggies or pamper wipes at all. Before I got into more more earth friendly products I used Costco brand wipes and they are wonderful. So many of my friends use them.

Re: Diapers
I needed Newborn diapers for both my kids for a good three weeks. With my first everyone told me not to but that many so I didn't and wound up having to go out and buy a big box. My boys where 7lbs 11oz and 7lbs 3oz.

Re: Diapers
We used Pampers Swaddlers from the start and have never switched. DH loves the wetness indicator and refuses to use anything cheaper.

Re: Diapers
I liked newborn diapers that have the bellybutton cut-out. I don't remember which brands specifically had it though.

Re: Diapers
We have used many different diapers. My DD suffered from terrible rashes for a while. We started using Honest diapers and I really like them best. She has never had an issue with them and they are much more natural than a lot of the other brands. Automatic delivery is great too. You can get a free trial to see if you like them. Here is the link... link
