Hysteroscopy scheduled for Monday at 11:30
Good luck Ang!
Why are they having you have this done?
I think its just standard procedure along with the blood work to make sure there is nothing in the uterus that should not be!
Gotcha!!

Dr. B figured out I have Hashimoto's disease (underactive thyroid), I met with 2 endo's before finally meeting with his BIL. The other 2 endos I didn't like and after meeting with his BIL I was like omg I LOVE him!
He is so bubbly and chipper and nice. He doesn't have a nurse and took my blood himself! He even prescribed me meds at 100mg instead of 50mg so I can snap them in half and a 90 day supply turns into a 180 day supply.
Good luck! Hopefully this fixes the problem!
And wanted to add it took me like 2 weeks on meds to get my thyroid levels normal.
awesome!!! Thank you!!
Do you feel any different with your thyroid at a normal level?
Honestly I didn't feel like the thyroid meds made me feel much different , maybe just a bit (went on in April 2011). My TSH level was at 5.5 which is a bit high, in early 2009 (before TTC) I was sick for like 2 months, looking back all the signs of a Thyroid disease were there, but my TSH levels (checked old blood work recently) was 3.5, they say you should treat the symptoms and not the numbers, but that fell into my GP's "normal range" and he didn't pick up on it. It's super important to be on meds even if you don't have sympotoms otherwise your body is just attacking the Thyroid.
BUT, I did start to feel better and GOOD about 2 months ago, after my immune panel came back I had some slightly high or borderline high (but still in the normal range) issues, MTHFR (C and A copy), slightly high NK, Thyroid antibodies were 80...
Anyway Dr. B put me on Resverstrol (antioxidant), Melatonin, Greens Plus, Royal Jelly (super nourishing), Pycnogenol (antioxidant), Metnax (vitamin for the MTHFR), and Intralipids, I am currently on my 3rd month of this and feel a lot better now. So I think these supplements are what made the difference! I love that Dr. B prescribed me some natural remedies.
I would ask him about the Intralipids for you too. You get it once a month before implantation, and again one time when you're pregnant.
He told me to take natural supliments too... thanks you!!!!
thanks for the support ladies!!
I have Hashimoto's too and other than synthroid it was never suggested that I do anything else... they seem to think synthroid "solved" the problem but I am no longer so sure.
Well Hashimoto's is a DISEASE, having an underactive thyroid is a CONDITION, having the condition I believe can be solved with Synthroid, but having the disease is different.
Basically we have elevated thyroid antobodies, our immune systems are SO good that we decided it should attack our thyroid gland. So with an u/s you can see tiny scratches all over the gland which is why we NEED to be on meds, even if we feel fine. So the thyroid doesn't get any more damaged and have to be removed.
By taking the synthroid we are giving our body back the hormone that the thyroid was struggling to make. This way the thyroiod can just rest. So by taking the meds we feel better.
HOWEVER this does absoutely nothing for the raised antibody levels. I don't think there is much you can do to fix this. One thing I learned is to stay away from soy!!! Now for me and being a vegeterian I was eating it failry often, I have since April completely cut it out.
Hopefully this small bit helps, this is how it has been explained to me and how I understood it, I am not a doctor and could be completely wrong!
A good bit of news is all 3 endos, Dr. B and LI IVF don't believe this has anything to do with me struggling, if anything before it is treated you could have a miscarriage, but normally doesn't interfere with being pregnant.
HTH.

Just wanted to 2nd that about the soy. I didn't actually believe it. So, at some point last year I started eating a lot of soy products (hypothyroidism...about 4 years now). I love tofu, edamame, veggie burgers and soy sauce etc... And after 4 years of my TSH level being steady it went to 3.5 from 1.7. Soy actually interferes with Synthroid. And well, now I know its actually true. Of course they upped my meds and within two weeks it was back below 2 and luckily steady ever since. I avoid soy as best possible. Though I still have soy sauce with sushi. Actually have been reading lately that a gluten free diet is helpful for people who have hypothyroidism. So, I wanted to test it out (figure if my 10yr old niece could do it..gluten sensitivity...then I could do it much easier than she can). I'm gluten free for almost 2 months now. With maybe an accidental screw up here and there. I do notice I have much much more energy and I don't seem to have mood swings like I used to. But, I don't go back to endo for another month. It will be interesting to see if there's any truth to this experiment.
Wanted to add one of the studies from Italy:
Prevalence of thyroid disorders
and an article it was reference in:
Sure Foods Living article
Just something else to think about(like we dont' have enough). For me, I've had stomach issues my whole life. I should probably get tested for Celiac or allergy to gluten. Though I think you have to get tested before you go off it totally. Stomach has been really good too since I went off the gluten.
