DH just informed me
he thinks that Cornell giving us a days notice to come in for the IUI is obnoxious and if I want him to call there and give them a piece of his mind, he will do that.
Yes, I explained about the timing and the cycle...he still wanted more notice.
I think he's chickening out. I think I've done this for nothing.
He thinks we shouldn't have to drop everything for them.
Help please..I don't know what to say to make him understand.
eta: I think he's just very stressed about work now and having to arrange coming into the city kind of last minute is making him more stressed.

Re: DH just informed me
You wouldn't be dropping everything for them - you are dropping everything for yourselves.
Maybe he is chickening out, maybe he really doesn't understand that none of this is an exact science with a timetable.
Can you appeal to him again asking what the real issue is here?

Re: DH just informed me
He thinks it's Cornell. I told him all of the clinics do this. It's normal and it's dependent on my ovaries and when they are ready.
He still thinks it's Cornell's timetable..
He wants to blame someone for messing with his schedule.

This is what you are paying big bucks for...when your follicles reach a certain size, its trigger and go!! Not up to them, up to your body!!!!

I couldn't agree more....I'm so glad Lisa said it first!
There's no controlling when it's going to happen. What if it were IVF? Then it would be okay? Sorry, I'd have to smack him upside the head for this one...you've been doing injections for days, going in for sono's every other day and he can't go in one day to J/O??!!! There would be war in my house if DH tried to pull that one.....

Re: DH just informed me
As I've explained to DH a zillion times, this is cyclical and we can't control anything.

Re: DH just informed me
Can't you sit him down with the RE or nurse and have them explain the process to him and why timing is important? I agree with the previous poster, this is for the both of you not Cornell.

Re: DH just informed me
Sounds like your DH might be getting cold feet. With that said, my DH did not always come with me for IUI's. He gave a sample at home in a cup and I brought it to the office with me.

Re: DH just informed me
He apologized. He was very anxious about work..he has been for months now. His schedule is clear and everything is ok.
Imagine what I was feeling?
btw-he gave me my trigger like a champ. Way to go! He's very proud of himself.
I wish I could drink. I was this close to whacking him upside his head.

you would think he would get it by now.
it was all about his work schedule. Dude, build a bridge and get over it. I was such a mess after that call that my boss called me into her office to ask what's wrong. Great...now my boss has to see me have a breakdown.
She told me to take Wed and Thurs off. She told me not to stress. I love her but can't help but feeling she is disappointed in my performance lately. DH seems to think she is just being caring.

Re: DH just informed me
Oh they all do this! DH and I got into a huge fight when he was supposed to produce on our first IUI. He even went so far as to tell me he's canceling. I was gonna throw him down the stairs.
Then I took a couple of deep breathes and calmed myself down. Then I looked at him and said I know its not what you want to be doing right now, but this is what we are doing right now.
Needless to say, he might be a little weird tomorrow morning too. They get stressed out but differently and with work thrown in its hard to tell whats going on with them.
Glad he apologized and calmed himself down.
So, when people tell us to calm down and don't stress about it, I tell them, it obviously doesn't make a difference b/c people have successful at this all the time and THEY ARE STRESSED!!!!!!!!! Right! Cycling is stressful.
