Devastated!!!
I was supposed to call my RE up and schedule another appointment.
Well DH just told me to hold off on it because we have completely drained out our "rainy day savings".
Our co-pays are $50 each visit. It really adds up when you are going a few times a month. I can't get any credit cards and DH filed for bankrupcy before we were married. We honestly live pay check to pay check. No we aren't starving and inspite of living pay to pay we are doing ok. But the $50 every time has taken its toll on our budget.
What makes things worst is that I am watching my friends daughter for free because she has no one to help her and shes in a worst situation than me. But now I can't get a part time job because I can't leave her stranded without a sitter.
When it rains it pours in my world. I am so sad right now. I can't believe this is happening. I lurk on pregnancy and sometimes I post of parenting and I see women who were TTC with me having babies or their babies are turning 1 and they are thinking of TTC #2. It hits me hard to see that I am still on this road. Now I am at a dead end. I am sick to my stomach and in pain from AF cramps.
Sorry to vent.

Re: Devastated!!!
Maybe you can work out a payment plan with the insurance company or your RE's office? Also check with them about having to pay the copay every visit. I was paying a $40 copay every visit and then one time I looked at my explanation of benefits and I saw the ins. co wasn't charging the $40. I called up the ins and the doctor and they stopped charging me the copay every time. I am still not exactly sure why I had to stop paying it, but I know what you mean about how it adds up really quickly - and when I found out I didn't have to pay the copays it was a relief.
I hope things work out for you.

Re: Devastated!!!
I am sorry what about trying for like a capital one card or something like that. I know they start out at like a $300 limit and you could use that for your copays and just pay it back each month.

Re: Devastated!!!
i would definitely speak to your doctor about payment plans. Even if you could do 10 dollars a week every month - this way you have one pre-paid visit per month??? If that's too much - what about $5.00 a week?
talk to them - they know how important this is...they should be able to work something out with you!

I am so sorry!
What times do you watch the baby? Maybe there is a part-time job we can come up with that will work.
Is there any way to figure out a business that you could do from home?
Maybe for now, you can sell some old things on Ebay just to get enough money for a few copays at least.

Re: Devastated!!!
I have another idea!
Maybe check on Craigslist and see if there are any babysitting jobs. Maybe someone would be willing to bring their child to your place and you can watch both children at the same time (but the child's parent from Craigslist will pay and the other won't - not that the parent from CL needs to know that!)
Where do you live? Maybe we can help you search.

That is an AWESOME idea- you are already home with a kid- why not add another and get paid for it? Plus it will be good practice for you!

Re: Devastated!!!
I am so touched by everyone trying to help. I really appreciate it. Sorry I haven't been on sooner to respond.
Dh feels terrible about all this and it makes me feel worst because its not his fault. I will go for my CD 3 testing and then talk to the billing dept. and hope we can work things out. If not then I have already taken all the advice and put some into action. I looked on CL for babysitting jobs and the other job section. I used to be a medical receptionist but that was over 3 years ago. My skills need some brushing up.
I watch the baby at night 4pm-1am. My DS is home for the summer and I have no one to help me with getting my DS on and off the bus during the school year so I have to find something that I can work the hours he's in school or pay for after care at his school. I have to wait till the new school year paper work comes in to sign him up. This is something I will probably do. I just have to wait till a week or so before September.
I am trying my hardest to stay on the positive side. I can't let this take me down. We are going to get by tight this month but hopefully we will only need this month or at least in September my DS will be in school again and I can take on a part time and put him in the after care.
Again ladies I just get all choked up with all the response of advice. My family isn't the greatest so I don't have anyone besides DH to talk to. Having you guys has made this a h ell of alot easier to deal with. Thank you so much.

Re: Devastated!!!
I know this may sound kind of cheesy but my friend used to do this years ago. She used to stuff envelopes for a company from her home. I remember her stuffing her brains out but she did it while she watched tv and it got her an extra 100 a week.
Good luck
