I completely believe in PGD to check for genetic anamolies present in an embryo, but to discard perfectly good embryos based on hair color or eye color, I just feel is morally wrong.

But isn't that what happens to every embryo that is not implanted anyway? They may be perfectly good as well but are just discarded.

I don't know...not necessarily. Statistically speaking, not many embryos will actually be "okay" as you already know (being that's your job Chat Icon), but I think actually doing PGD, well, doing IVF in the first place, creating embryos, just because you want a blonde kid is kind of messed up in the first place. You know my issues, for me I don't have a choice. But if you can get pregnant naturally, why create all those little babies just to pick the ones that are "right" for you?

I think this is the problem here. It is assumed that people that will have this done do not need IVF/PGD but that is not necessarily true either! This is a good point and I agree with this, there is no point when a couple has no problems conceiving and have no issues.

Then again I am so biased I should probably just stop posting on this thread all together. Chat Icon
