What do you think about this?

Re: ‘Designer’ babies with made-to-order defects?
Why would anyone want a baby with a disability? I don't get it.

This statement is ridiculous:
“You cannot tell me that I cannot have a child who’s going to look like me,” Reynolds said. “It’s just unbelievably presumptuous and they’re playing God.”
UMMM, Who's trying to play God here?

That is exactly what I thought. Also how would you feel being a child with a disability knowing the reason you have the disability is because your parents wanted you to have it. You would think as parents you would want your child to have all the advantages you did not have. I think that they are being selfish.

That is so disgusting. These people should not be having children.

I find this so interesting. Although I am 100% against it, I have researched deaf culture and understand that these people don't feel like they have a disability. However, I cannot imagine purposely bringing a child who is obviously going to have disadvantages, despite the cultural aspect of the disability. I guess these parents feel like if they have a "normal" child, the child won't be part of their culture, but I still disagree with it.

I don't totally understand why you would wish for your kid to have a disablilty or a defect of some kind. Even if you have one yourself. I really don't get it, wouldn't you want to try to have a healthy child. Many people with Dwarfism have alot of health problems, especially problems with their legs, hips etc. They may need tons of surgery, why would you wish that on your child.
