today is our last day of 'vacation'....and em woke up at 11:30 (LOVE my girl). I took some allergy meds and wound up falling back to sleep at 1:30 until 3:00 (dave took her into the living room)....
when i came into the room and said hi, i was greeted with applause and shreeks of joy. she run-crawled over to me.
11:30 from the night's sleep??? I wish.....
yeppers! she doesn't go to bed until late (her naps have been happening later & later)....but then she'll sleep until 11:30... on our vacation - the earliest she woke up was 10:30 - and that was because we HAD to get up at that time.

When I was walking up to the house DH was holding DS. DS's saw me for the first time through the screen window and his face lit up. He smiled and laughed. Once I took him from DH he rubbed his head against my neck and put his hand on my cheek. I love him more than words can explain...

When I went into her room to check on her when I got home from work (she was napping) and she was on her knees and gave me the biggest smile! I lifted her out of the crib and she was so excited to see me, she was just staring at my face while I was holding her and we were talking back and forth. Then when I asked for a kiss she leaned in to me... I just melted right there.

My 10 1/2 month old walked 9 steps to me today he started taking steps last thursday but today he took 9 steps and he took them to me and he WAS so proud and so shocked at the same time AND my 4 year old came screaming "mommy, mommy, mommy" when I picked her up from preschool and told me I was the best mommy EDER

When my seven year old DS hit the baseball into the outfield and then looked at me with a huge grin on his face.
When I looked through my four year old DS's schoolwork packet from his year at preschool and saw how his work has progressed and read what his teachers wrote about him.
When 15 month old DD gave me a kiss for the first time (last night right before bed).

Ahhhh I love this post... My DD and I were laying on the ground and Grandma and I have been trying to teach her to clap all week...
Well... she keeps clinching her hands and doing it... well we were laying on the ground and I was on the phone and all of a sudden she just got it (we didn't even practice today) but she just started clapping her hands with her fingers spread wide and not clinched!
I just put the work phone call on hold and gave her the biggest hug and kiss... it made my day! She is learning and growing...

My 10 month old DS let me sleep in this morning til 11:30 while he played quietly in his crib. When I went in to pick him up out of the crib he put both arms around me and laid his head on my shoulder and wouldnt let go for about 30 seconds Melted my heart. DS is not the cuddly type AT ALL and he never sits still, so moments like that are few and far between.

When my son asked if we could take the Smithtown Bull home with us so the Bull could lie down and go to sleep instead of standing on the road all night. He calls it the dog-bull. He tried to think about how we could fit it into our car. Deep down I do think I have a future veterinarian/ animal rescuer in my house.

Maddie taught Eliza how to "walk like a penguin". Hilarity.
Walking into their room and not seeing Maddie sleeping in her bed. Not seeing her sleeping on the floor. Not seeing her sleeping ANYWHERE. Then seeing her fast asleep in her sister's crib with her.
