Mine are 9 months and they went in the pool yesterday. They would have gone sooner but the waters been cold.

I took Kevin to the pool at 5.5 months. He didn't go to the beach until he was about 7 month but that was only because we never had time to go until then when we went away for a weekend. We put him in a baby pool (no chlorine) when he was 4 months (start of summer).
I read somewhere after that - you should expose them to chlorine in a pool until 6 months - no clue where I read it though or what the reasoning is.

Marissa was 8 months when she went swimming in a pool and she jsut went to the beach a few weeks ago and she is 1 1/2
