RSV is extremely contagious from droplets of a cough, sneeze etc. my now 4 year old had it very bad as an infant but with that said, his brother never caught it

My DD had it when she was 1 & 1/2. She was exposed on a Sunday, and developed symptoms on Thursday (fever, cold symptoms). However, the child she caught it from was very obviously sick (coughing all over the place and nose running like a faucet).
I would ask the pediatrician if you're concerned, but I think your DS should be okay if your nephew was not showing symptoms and they weren't playing together.
