definitely "tmi" but i have to ask
this is our first month of ttc......so bd without protection is new to us........it seemed pretty messy . and i felt like averything came back out of me.........is that normal? am i crazy?

VERY normal. 
You might want to place a pillow under your lower back or lift your legs up for about 10 minutes to get the swimmers in place. But many people say it's not necessary.
I find it keeps things a little 'neater.'

YES!!! I agree with you! I find it messy also. I was one of those people that put her feet in the air and a pillow under the butt for 10-15 minutes afterwards. I don't know if it worked or not, but we got our bfp!

Oh hon - yes - it is a MESS. It's NOT like the movies - with the whole, ahhhhhhhhh and DONE.
I definitely put my legs in the air afterwards too....however, the whole thing of it is - what needs to get 'all the way up there' DOES so in the first, initial RELEASE....but it 100% can't hurt to get them legs in the air and wave them like you just don't care!

Definitely not like in the movies! I find it really messy too! I used to think something was wrong because of what used to come out afterwards, but it is normal.

This was me too!! Until I asked my BFF and she said it's totally normal.
I wear a pad after because throughout the morning it can get messy.
