Re: Dealing w/ the disappointment
TTC is probably one of the hardest things we go through and I think it's weird that it's not more common for people to talk about their struggles (IRL, I mean).
We all know that feeling you're feeling now, and we are here for you no matter what!
There are so many people who swear AF is coming (hey, look at "babyonmind" right now!) who, to their surprise, get a BFP.
I know you did everything right this month, but even if you don't get your BFP - you have to remember that it can take women 6-12 months of PERFECTLY TIMED intercourse to get pregnant! You are nowhere near abnormal and I know you will get your BFP soon!
I am praying for you!

Re: Dealing w/ the disappointment
Honestly, it's tough. The first few months of TTC, I was really excited to test and would start testing really early. When I got my BFN, I was always disappointed but knew that we had not been trying for that long. However, probably at the 5th month, I stopped testing early and started testing the day AF was due.
I can honestly say that the last 2 cycles, I did not want to test at all. I think that next month, I will not test until AF is late.
I think we all just wind up dealing with it. I also try to focus on the "positives" each month.

I hear ya. If this results in a BFN, i think net month i will wait til AF is due. I hate that one single line.

I always try to wait, but usually give in at 12 or 13 dpo. Not this time!
Keep us updated on tomorrow's testing results!

Same here (we had taken the "whatever happens" approach since our wedding last summer), and I was always excited when I thought we could be PG. I ended buying early PG tests and always got BFN (probably spent $200 in those stupid tests for nothing ). Too much of an emotional roller coaster, but I can't NOT test. I'd go out of my mind!
and for everyone!

i was extremely dissapointed last month.. i said to myself that next month i am going to wait till AF is late.. i think i would rather have AF show up than to see that 1 line its more upsetting to me i think. i have learned my lesson

Re: Dealing w/ the disappointment
Having hope is what we need to get us pg and yet, hope is what makes a BFN so hard. At least you have girls on this board that you can talk to and a BFF that you will see. In that way, you are blessed. for next month.

Re: Dealing w/ the disappointment
It is getting harder for me as time goes on. I don't test at all....I just wait for AF to show up. This cycle, I had a small feeling that I MIGHT be pregnant and I was honestly so sad when AF showed up 2 days early. I told DH and he had tears in his eyes so that made it even worse. I don't see the disappointment getting any easier to handle.

it's never easy, but I found not testing before AF was due seemed to take some of the edge off.

Re: Dealing w/ the disappointment
I agree with the PPs. The first month we started seriously trying, I didn't wait for AF to be late, and I tested, and it was the worse month to handle. For some reason, the BFN is more difficult to see than AF. If you can, try and hold out in future months until she is late. I'm so sory you are going through this.

Re: Dealing w/ the disappointment
I was thinking of posting something similar to this the other day. I haven't even come close to Oing yet and I am already fearing that this will be another failed month. It's such a heavy feeling.
I don't test till AF is late. Not seeing what you want to see is the most painful. I think that it get easier some months and harder others. This is a rollercoaster we are on.
