For me, the center is what works best.
I like that I don't have to worry about the care taker getting sick, or going on vacation or having a personal emergency. There is always back ups at the center should a teacher be out.
I like that they are state and nationally accredited and get frequent inspections and follow safety and health rules to the letter of the law.
I like that EVERYTHING is documented- from every single diaper change, to every time she eats, to every nap, to her mood of the day.
I like that everything is age apporpraite and they move through the different classrooms as they progress.
I like the structure of the program.
For us, it was the only choice.
What she said.
Same here...In fact I had a friend (who has a DS her age) offer to watch DD when I was first going to put her in daycare and I considered it. Even though I would pay her too, I'd rather speak up at a center if I felt uncomfortable about something as opposed to my friend, which would probably put a strain on our friendship. Plus the daycare was more structured, more things to do, more learning (IMO) so I'm glad we went w/the center and have no regrets about it. GL!
