We go to KA of Bethpage. I would switch to Farmingdale in a heartbeat if it was not so out of the way for us and if I was not about to have another DS. They do charge more than Bethpage, but they offer more and are managed much more professionally. Bethpage needs to learn a litte from them, we have almost left a couple of times but the teachers really love the kids and my DS is pretty happy there and we get free vacation/sick weeks so we stay.
I agree with you about KA in Bethpage. I was so excited to check the place out especially with the free vaca/sick weeks (at least it helps to make up the fact that you are paying so much on normal weeks) but we were so disappointed and a little annoyed with the individuals running the place. They didn't really seem to care and we knew from the initial greeting that it was a no.
DS has been there for almost 2 years and we signed him up when they were only opened 2 or 3 months. At our initial visit we were so impressed, but over the last 2 years it just seems to get worse and worse. But we are kinda stuck now especially with #2 on the way. It's nice to hear that someone elses feels the same tho (I know some other parents in our class do but I don't know you , so it means even more!).

We found the same and we're in Suffolk too. In home licensed day cares we looked at ranged from 40-60 per day and centers were much more.

We used to use Tutor Time for a long time with all 3 of our kids but then at almost 2 for our DD we just wanted something a little more personable for her and that's when we looked into home care.
We went by word of mouth on Facebook and a lot of my friends and community recommended a woman who my daughter now at 5 still loves going there every once in a while. It was also ALOT cheaper than the center over 100.00 a week.

I have been searching in the same area. Went to KA Bethpage, Sweet Tots, Teacher's Pet, Kids by the Bunch, and an in home daycare. I also called so many. 300-350 seems to be the going rate. I like some of them but don't love any. Such a hard an expensive decision. I also looked into some people who watch the child in your home or theirs. That was over 400 a week. I found a few licensed home daycares not in the area but closer to my job in western nassau for under 300. GL

Well the overall atmosphere for one. When we walked into KA Fdale we felt welcome and we were given their undivided attention. We were walked through the entire facility and shown all rooms not just the infant. They explained how things were down, their cleaning schedule for toys and rooms and beds. I felt as though they cared about every child and staff member equally. They gave us more than enough information and even told us what to look for when we look at other places. Their curriculum seemed to be a step above all the others.
We had the complete opposite feeling when walking into KA Bethpage. We seemed to be a bother to be honest. We were barely walked around and anything we were shown was through a window. Nothing was explained or described except the fees. We just did not get a great feeling from the people running the facility. Can't say anything about the teachers since we didn't get to meet any.

No. Look into licensed in-home daycares. They are typically cheaper. My son's daycare is $45 a day ($225 p/w) from 8-6pm with her providing all meals and snacks.

My TT offers a deal for current families where they offer you a discount on the registration fee for next year if you pay in the Spring.
So let's say DD was going next year, we would pay $205 now for the yearly registration as opposed to $240 if we wait and pay it in the fall.
Not much of a discount at all, and only for currently enrolled families.
It also guarantees the spot
