day care teacher gifts

sorry if there was already threads on the topic.

i feel i am in a pickle.

my ds just moved into his toddler classroom a month ago. i like his current teacher a lot ~ she is really helpful to me and my ds seems to like her. just this week the school combined 2 classes together so now there is a new teacher in the room with him as well and he is now part of a bigger class.

the 2 teachers that were with him in the infant room i really LOVED! my ds still calls the one teachers name when we get to the day care each morning. i still stop in and say hello when i pass the room ~ ds gives kisses when he sees them. they are the 2 that taught him some sign and really were my favorites.

do i have to get gifts for all these people? who would you buy for? and what would you give? am i still only connected to the infant teachers because he is still new to the toddler room?

im lost.

You can get gifts for whomever you want.

Last year, DS was in the infant room from May-October and I liked his teachers a lot. He moved to the "Wobbler" room from October-January and I didn't really know those teachers (I still dropped him off to/picked him up from the infant teachers) so I got all 4 teachers $25 giftcards to Target.

The infant teachers weren't expecting anything and both told me I didn't have to get them anything but, I felt it was appropriate since they spent more time with DS and I knew that he liked them so much.

This year, he's been in this toddler room since late May and is moving up in January so I am just buying gifts for teachers in that room - and spending a little more on the head teacher (the two assistants just came a month or so ago).

Oh gosh I have such a problem in this area - my DC has a "main teacher" during the day, but there are younger helpers all around that do a lot of the grunt work. My DC talks about all teachers. They all seem to work as a team. I also did not get end of year gifts for his last two teachers before he moved up to the toddler room so I feel like I owe them something.

I got each teacher the same thing - a $25 gift set from the body shop. I just don't feel like its enough, but I had to get 5. (two for last years teachers, and 3 for current teachers)

I 'd love to hear what others are doing.

ETA: last year DC only had those 2 teachers and I got them a MAC gift set each... I think about $45, and I got a box of chocolate for the owner, who is now the main teacher in the toddler room. My DH thinks she should actually get less because she is the owner, but she is the main teacher in the toddler room
