Day Care Costs
Just out of curiosity how much do you pay in child care for your DC if they are under 2years old?
I was so done as far as returning to work after baby but I am beginning to miss (can't believe I'm saying this ) working. DH doesn't want me to go back once my leave ends but SAHM has been weird for me.

$200 for 4 days from 9-530 at an in home licensed daycare.

$1600 / month for 1 child for early drop of (not the super early drop off), full time.
eta - this is for a daycare center - Tutor Time. I've been so happy that we selected this place, we have been beyond happy with their care there.

I have a sitter we found on Care.com. We paid her $12/hr for 2 kids the 1st year and bumped her up to $13/hr the 2nd year she was with us. This will be the 3rd year she's been with us and we are keeping her at $13.

At that time (under 2 years old) it was about $1200 a month for 3 days a week. This is at a Tutor Time
(hours were 630 am to 630 pm- no early drop off fees no matter what time you dropped off after 630 am)
And I understand completely your feelings- I felt the exact same way while home on leave. I felt so off, and not myself. Going back to work was the best thing for me.

I will be paying $280 a week for 4 days a week- licensed in home daycare. I did come across other places who charged not that much more for 5 days but we went with this place because its 3 min from our house and the owner was flexible with regards to my dh's rotating days off. If I could stay home or even work part time I would.

we were paying $1,386 a month (5 days a week from 7:30am - 5:30pm)
Now we put dd in part time care (4 days a week from 9am-1pm) and pay $475 a month

Day Care Costs
We pay 150 a week for full time M-F 8-6 but only send part time. It's less expensive for us this way. It's a small licensed day care attached to the owners home so she is very flexible. I also sometimes use a babysitter who we pay 13/hr for 2 kids. I mainly use her for Sat mornings or if I know I will be late I will use her instead of day care.

I can't remember what I was paying but ours goes down once they are Potty Trained. So I am now paying 303/week full time for a 10 hr day. It was probably closer to 340ish.
It is a large center (chain)

I pay $324/week for a 3 month old M-F, 6:45am to 4:45pm, so $1296/month at a licensed daycare facility in Nassau Country. The tuition price also includes all her diapers and wipes (daycare provides them). The only reason I bring that up is because it actually saves me money out of pocket -- since she's at daycare so much, I go through significantly less diapers at home (1 massive box from BJ's will now last me a month, maybe more).This price will also include meals and snacks when she starts to eat!

I use the same center, but DD is not potty trained yet. She's 20 months old and I pay $185/week for 2 days, 10 hrs each day.

Toddler--1475 M-F 9 hr day
Preschool--$1345 M-F 9 hr day
Between infant and preschooler its like a mortgage but we are thrilled with the care at this center.

I was paying 50 a day for an unlicensed babysitter in her home. Not paying for days off or vacations. Starting next month, my 15 month old will be going to a new daycare and I will be paying 1015 from 9-4.

We're paying $190/week for part-time (Mon-Wed) daycare. Its a small in-home daycare with 12 kids max (only 4 under 1 year old) and 3 women running the show. Area is Mineola/Williston Park

adding the second will be $1500/mo - so a total of $3150/mo for 2 kids in daycare. And I ask myself - why am I working??? Probably because I would be a terrible sahm!
