Cupcake Class - For those that wanted to do it UPDATED with info on class

I think there were a lot of people that expressed interest, but weren't able to make it to the one tonight.

I would love to organize another one. I live in Queens and my place is honestly too small for something like this, but I don't mind organizing if someone will host in (western-ish) Nassau. It would also have to be a weekend.

Hey ladies, so I got the information from the lady for the cupcake class. Here's what she emailed to me:

Cup Cake Decorating Party Outline
The host of the Party Bakes the cup cakes in advance - use any type of cake mix - at least 4 cup cakes per guest.

We make Butter Cream Frosting at the Party - Host will pick up the Butter and Powdered Sugar

I bring in all the materials we need for decorating: Disposable Bowls, Bakery Boxes, 4 different decorating tips, and pastry bags and much more

Each person is taught how to make a a Rossette, leaf and rose and we decorate the cup cakes.

I also bring with me some fondant to teach everyone how to make a lilly using fondant.


The host of the party does not pay only the guests. We have a 4 guest minimum perosn, but you can have as many people as you like.

Fee Schedule:
4 guests $50.00 per person
6 guests $35.00 per person
8 guests or more $25.00 per person

I'm actually going to try to do the class with some girlfriends, so if anyone wants to take the lead and host it for other LIFers, please feel free! I know there were a lot of ladies interested!

I'd love to go to one. I'm in eastern Nassau and my kitchen is just about nonexistant, so I can't offer to host.

I mentioned in her other thread that I was interested in how to set this up for a GTG at my house. My kitchen is open so I think it would work. I just need to know who to contact.

Unfortunately my kitchen is too small but I would love to take this class, depends on date and location though..

Great! What town do you live in? Would a weekend work for you?

I'm waiting to get the contact info from eddiesmommy so we can reach out to the lady that does the classes.

My Kitchen is in the process of getting re-done at this time so sorry I cannot offer the space. But I would definitely be interested in attending something like this!!!

I would love to do it. Infact, I was supposed to, but had to cancel at the last minute bc my sitter cancelled on me. If we could do it in the dining room I could host. I am pretty sure all the cupcakes were baked prior to.

I would LOVE to be part of this if we host a 2nd one - i could POSSIBLY host but don't have a huge kitchen or dining room...if someone can help me figure out the logistics I am up for hosting

Okay, YAY! So it looks like we have enough people, I think 8 is the maximum. I would be totally fine with either Saturday or Sunday.

As soon as I get the info from eddiesmommy, we can get the ball rolling.

Looks like we have a couple of host options, not sure how to finalize that. Since Jellybean offered first, if you are good with having 8 of us over, well 7 of us including you, then that would be great. If you can't or decide it doesn't work for you for any reason, we'll go with the next person that offered. Does that sound fair?

I just wanted to add since I went to Melissa's tonight that you dont necessarily need to use a kitchen. We were all able to fit in Melissa's kitchen, but as long as you have enough space for a long table with access to an outlet, it can be done anywhere. There really wasnt too much of a mess either. We had a really great time. I'm thinking about having a class at my house in my living room

Guys - my kitchen is TINY and it works. You dont need a lot of room, some counter space (I have above 6 feet of it) and a table for everyone to stand around.

We had 9 girls and it was the perfect sized class for her to be able to handle and still personally teach each of us.
