Cruise with a very active 18 month old

Who has done this? Is it worth it? We would be leaving out of NY so there will be like 5 days at sea on a carnival cruise. Im not sure if DS would have enough to do

Because I am so nervous, I wouldn't do it... I would just be nervous that she would run off the edge of the boat, or something... They don't have walls just those 3 railings, at least this is what I thought I remembered from my last cruise.

Not that I don't watch my daughter, just b/c when I get a thought in my head, I tend to get crazy obsessed about it and paranoid.

Also, A cruise from NY usually has a lot more ship days then port days and its not as fun to me... but thats JMO...

I did it and loved it. My ds is now 6 and just came back from his 5th cruise. His little sister 3 is just back from her third. Never even a chance of falling over board, except conceivably on the 7th floor promenade. So if you go on 7th floor hod hand of you are worried. Also if you do a balcony, take all chairs way if the baby is going to be out there alone, lol. You don;t want the little climber getting on the banister. But honestly will you leave your baby unattended on the balcony? Don't think so.

At 18 mo my son was so active that we let him walk everywhere with the stroller in tow, just in case. We had an awesome time and still do.

ETA we did 4 out of 5 cruises with kids on carnival.
