Cross country moving companies?
I'm trying to research full service moving companies that will pack up our stuff in NY, move it to TX within 1 week and unload our stuff so we don't have to deal with it. (We can't do pods or anything that would cause it to take longer than a week because we both work from home and are out of money if we don't have our equipment.)
The reviews for all of these companies are just unreliable! Some are great on consumer affairs, and bad on BBB or yelp. What do I believe?
Anyone have good experiences with a cross country moving company that could give me a recommendation please?
Thank you!!!

Re: Cross country moving companies?
We used Verity movers based out of Seaford for our move from LI to FL. We had a good experience.
ETA: I don't think any mover will guarantee 1 week. They will say 3 to 10 days. Things happen. For us it was 3 days but our closing was delayed in NY (incompetent buyers attny) so our closing in FL was delayed and we didn't own our house to receive our things. So we had to wait for the truck to finish their drop-offs further south and they delivered our stuff at 10 days when they were headed back North.

Re: Cross country moving companies?
We used Atlas and they were fine!
Eta- Wow I just looked up Atlas and they get some horrendous reviews. Others are fine. So strange. Well wehad no issues with them...

We had a similar issue and ended up using an ABF trailer, total transit time was less than 10 days from lower CT to Houston area, and we hired crews to load and unload. We also moved over a 3 day holiday weekend. We were able to track everything online, and our trailer actually got to TX before we did and they were able to bring it to us earlier than we had scheduled.
The reviews and for some of these other companies were awful, just atrocious. The costs were quoted as 3, even 4 times as much and no improvement in transit time at all.
Can you take your necessary equipment with you in your car?

We are in the process of using Ace relocation systems (atlus) for a corporate move. They moved DH and I out of our place in CA and we are waiting for delivery in Ny next week ( our stuff is in storage as we were waiting on the house to close but our stuff arrived on the east coast in about a week). They were great during the 2 day pack and load, we didn't lift a finger. I actually read a whole book while they packed. Our coordinator has also been great.

I don't have any recommendations, but apparently a lot of these moving companies change their names frequently to get around the BBB complaints. DH's cousin moved across the country. It took the moving company 39 days, they told them they lived in a "remote" area, extorted $800 more than originally stated, and two boxes were missing. I'm not sure who they used.
