Crashing - gift idea for expecting moms?

My best friend just told me she's pregnant - she is about 10 weeks. She is not going to register until she finds out the sex, and she will have a shower and I will get her a gift for that of course, but I wanted to get her something now because I am SO excited!

Any suggestions or anything you have received that was super cute and special?

Get her an old navy gift certificate for some maternity clothes. (actually, JcPenny, Kohl's also has some nice stuff that's on the cheap side, she'll need it!).

Most of the gifts I got that early on were for me and not the baby and honestly, I really liked and appreciated that. I mostly received maternity clothes, which was great because once my belly popped I already had some things to wear.

I did receive a few gender neutral clothing items as well, but really not much after we found out the sex.

If you want to do something more special or personal, you could get a picture frame so when she has her first sonogram she can put one of the pictures in there. Or a baby book, or a piggy bank.

I agree with a gc for maternity clothes, or a cute picture frame that hold sono pics!

Some cute bibs or clother that say something to do with "mommy" .

At 5 weeks, my BF gave me socks that said "Mommy to Be" with a little design and a ribbon on them. I wore them to every sono appt....they were my "good luck socks". It was something small but a big gesture.

Go to Hallmark and get the Willow Tree figurine of the expectant parents. It's the husband and wife standing and the hubby has his hand on his pregnant wife's belly. It's SO sweet. I love it!

And, yeah... a gift certificate for Maternity Clothes is great, too!
