Cracked Iphone Screen - worth getting fixed?
I have an IPhone 4 through Verizon and the screen got cracked yesterday. Verizon said it's more reasonable to upgrade than repair. cause I'm eligible for a new phone.
I asked someone at the Verizon kiosk at Costco (where I was when the phone was dropped and cracked) and he said there's a guy in the Smith Haven Mall across the Apple Store who can fix it.
Is this true? If so, how much would it cost? TIA.

Call the mall and ask what they carve. I just payed $149 to have my iPad screen replaced, I have to assume and iPhone must be less then that.

Re: Cracked Iphone Screen - worth getting fixed?
Same thing just happened to me. I'm debating what to do. If I upgrade through Verizon (with discount) then I lose my unlimited data plan and bill increases $20 a month. I'm currently grandfathered in the plan since Verizon no longer offers it. If I pay full price for the phone....I get to keep my unlimited data. I know Verizon will eventually force me to change plans. My contract expired in June and I have been debating leaving Verizon but just can't do it.
I really want a 5s but hate to lose my plan. I think might order a replacement screen online and have my DH fix it. I wouldn't pay more than $50 to get it repaired.

I didn't want to upgrade for the exact same reason. I pay $92 w/ tax per month and if I upgraded, I'd have 1gb of data and would be paying $100 PLUS tax. I couldn't justify paying more money for significantly less data.
I got an email a couple of weeks ago that they are offering 6GB of data to those who have unlimited plans for the same price as what you are currently paying. The only caveat is that you need to do Verizon Edge to get an upgraded phone.
So, I upgraded to the 5S and the only change to my bill is the cost of the phone - $27 a month and I can return it after a year and get a new phone instead of having to wait 2 years. I never came close to hitting 1gb so I never needed unlimited. 6gb is plenty for me!

Cheaper to upgrade. The 5 is out for $99. The screen will cost between $150 and $200 to repair.
ETA: Is it the front or back of the phone? The front is more costly to repair.

That's awesome! I don't recall seeing an email like this. I will call Verizon and see what they offer.

the only problem with this is if you keep it you end up paying full retail for it OR pay more then $300 then have to give it back after a year.
